spacious inside and out
My two boys and I stayed in Cortez recently while visiting Mesa Verde National Park. On our second night in town we stayed at the Econolodge. The first thing I liked about this hotel was that it was nicely spread out with the parking in front of the building. Once in side the room I was impressed with the room, very good size. The room was quite comfortable also very clean and in excellent condition. All of this was in direct contrast to the place we stayed the night before. At that hotel everything seemed a little or sometimes alot cramped. The bathroom sink was inches from the room’s door and the room itself was small. The parking lot was not good at all. It was poorly lit, small, and most of it was in the back and was a little creepy. In fact on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most creepy, I would say it was a very strong 8. In fact you could say it’s a super 8.

Basic Lodging
The hotel was in decent shape and offered basic amenities. The rooms were clean but not immaculate. The furnishings and carpet were worn but usable. The best things about this hotel were its location and a 10 percent discount at the Denny’s across the street.
