Will Visit this Hotel at least 12 times a year!!
This hotel is totally excellent for foreigners and mexican tourism! I DEFINITELY RECCOMEND IT!! We decided to test this hotel and was the most excellent decision for the "Semana Santa" holidays. The hotel was full and never felt crowded at all, it was very peaceful & relaxing. The massages are not expensive and were excellent. I dont really know what was better if the food, which is very very healthy and gourmet, all vegetables and fruit were very fresh, tortillas were hand-made, breakfasts were buffets & affordable, or the rooms which were huge (they even included a comfortable living room). The gardens had a pool on each side of the hotel(divided in two parts) and we felt like we had our private pool in both parts. The Grand Maximiliano staff were friendly and accesible to any request a visitor could make. The area were very safe to my little baby girl of 15 months old. We are planning to be there the following weekend...

Peaceful relaxing hotel
We enjoyed our stay at the Gran Maximiliano. The rooms were very large and clean. The gardens were beautiful. With a pool on each side of the road, (Hotel is in two parts)we felt like we had a private pool. The food in the restaurant was excellent, more gourmet than average. The hotel is a little ways away form the town center, but taxis are always available and cost about $3.50. The people were charming and the area very safe. The only down side was the cement floor in the rooms and the air conditioning in our unit which was unpredictable. The ceiling fan worked great! We enjoyed sitting on our own balcony and listening to the kissing lizards. It was handy to speak Spanish, I dont know how much English the staff spoke. We thought it was a beautiful restful place to stay and would stay there again.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
We visited the pyramids at Xochicalco and the Ex- Hacienda of Coahuixtla, near Cuatla. If you are into history and archaeology they are wonderful! We had the ex-hacienda to ourselves except for a nice young man who had the keys and served as our guide, and the pyramids were also not crowded. The Borda gardesn int downtown Cuernavaca are fun, too. The palace of Cortes was impressive, especially the Diego Rivera murals.
