Good place to stay

We were very satisfied with our stay. Would recommend it to anyone visiting Vermont looking for a centralized location.

Not Impressed

I was not happy with the place at all. The room we had was small and the service was bad. The bed we slept in was very on comfortable. Will not recommend it to anybody.

Not impressed

Upon arrival the desk clerk was rude was not going to give us any info on our room until we persisted as to the room #. We were 30 minutes early and she wouldn’t allow us in our room. Also there was a blood stain on one of the comforters. The bathroom toilet handle was close to falling off. We asked about the fan on the blower on the heater and received an answer that on Mon. perhaps it could be fixed. We paid for 4 people and finally on the last day we received 4 towels. Other wise on the first day the clerk could only find one more towel in the pool area. The continental breakfast was OK but we have received hot cereal in other hotels we have visited. The staff in the morning were friendly, but the whole hotel was not real clean and I am sorry but we would never go to that hotel again.

NOT IMPRESSED

The queen-sized room we reserved was actually a full size, the ceiling beams had cobwebs all over them (thankfully no spiders) and the comment card which we might have filled out had been used by a previous visitor as a note page and noone bothered to replace it.

Decent value, but...

The hotel price per night was very good, and it was booked as a place to sleep as opposed to spending any time there. The room smelled musty, and the bed linens didn’t appear to be the cleanest. However, the staff were friendly, and was fine for a one night stay.

Great Value

This is our first experience with a Red Roof Inn and we were extremely impressed! The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The hotel was quiet and conveniently located. The price was so reasonable we stayed another night, and will definately return.

This is a very family friendly hotel, with a decent pool and family oriented restaurants very close.

my favorite place to hotel camp.

i’ve stayed there in the past and so have several of my friends on my recomendation. they allow pets so i was bale to bring the pooch. the room was clean you couldn’t tell there ahd been animals there. the staff was friendly and helpful.

good location, close to the large shopping ctr. & major highways.

good layout of the room and well maintained. the simple but comfortable stay in the vermont area. we may stay there again.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Route 7 on the way to Middlebury have some restaurants, in Brandon - Cafe Provence was well accomodated good place to have a nice meal.

Great place to stay!

amazing (do it yourself) breakfast, great pool, waking distance to restaurants, spacious rooms, close to ski and other attractions, polite and helpful employees

FREEZING

I know this hotel is in Vermont, and it is winter, but the hotel hallways were so cold it was uncomfortable even to walk in them. We could see our breath. The pool area was just as bad, so cold we could not even use it. When we asked the front desk they sent someone down but she said it would take "awhile" for it to warm up and then admitted it was only fans on that would blow the cold air around. And, when we called for help with transportation for a night out on the town the person at the front desk told us the best idea was to drive!?! Room was fine and breakfast was fine as well. Expedia was nice enough to give us a credit for the poor stay and the Red Roof has now offered us a credit for one night. We visit this area once a year and will not even consider staying here again.

It was nice

We like this Hotel,it was nice,pool,sauna,internet.Only 1 problem it was cold in our room.We contact front desk ,electrician try to fix,but result was the same.We lucky, next couple days temperature went up outside.

Fire Alarm Battery

Good access location for visiting central Vermont. We had a fire detector battery warning alarm go off during the night a call to the front desk got a janitor to replace battery in about 15 minutes, he was very apologetic front desk did not say anything

Housekeeping???

One overwhelming factor which colored our opinion of the hotel was that housekeeping did not pick up a bloody Kleenex that was wadded up on the bathroom floor. This made us very uncomfortable with the overall housekeeping standards. My travelling companion was so uncomfortable that he got a blanket from our car and slept on top of the bed, not in it.

It was okay

The rooms were nice, the maid just pulled up the covers, didn’t straighten out sheets, blankets or pillows. Didn’t empty coffee pot. There were grounds in it from previous customer. And our second night, we had a mouse in our room. They did move us to another room, which was a handicap room, which prevented us from being able to have late check out.

There was a shopping center across the street and plenty of places to eat. Also close to The Fair Grounds. But was out of the way of the Killington Motorcycle Rally.

This hotel was easy to get to and the location near ever thing in the rutland area customer service was also very good

Pool Cold

The room was clean enough, no bad smells. Nice grocery store across the street, close to decent restaurants. The indoor pool, the primary reason for picking this hotel, was too cold to use at 8pm. That was pretty discouraging. I’d probably recommend this place as nice if it wasn’t for that.

i would go back

hotel was nice clean, only people next door party all night smoking drugs and were up all night

good room good price

When making a trip with the price of gas it’s important for us to get a nice room at a reasonable price. With the help of Expedia we did that. The breakfast was simple but nice..love the waffles...they need real maple syrup though- c’mon it’s Vermont. Overall though I would go back. The smoking room we chose because my husband smokes-the room smelled like smoke bad though when we walked in- they need better ventalation or air fresheners..that would have made it so much better. I mean our house dosen’t smell like that and he’s always smoking.

Not a needed customer

I have stayed in this hotel and have had very few problems, but this time will be my last time. Less than a year ago, I stayedat Red Roof with a business partner. We noticed there had been some sort of water damage because of the water marks on the walls, lampshades, and some of the furniture. Okay, fine, it happens. Months later, none of these items have been replaced. If you ask me, it looks dirty and uncomfortable. I let that go. Upon check out, I waited at the front desk for 15 minutes before the man got off the phone making reservations and talking about where he grew up with whomever he was speaking with. He then did not know how to add the cost of a movie onto my final bill, so he called the manager, who took her time also to come to the desk. This woman was RUDE! She was very snotty to me after I told her that it has never taken me 25 minutes to check out of a hotel. She told me that it takes time to check out. I asked her if this is how she treats all of her customers and she only glared at me. I then told her that I will be writing to her superiors and she told me to "go ahead." When I told her that I would never go back there she told me that they have plenty of other customers. Therefore, I will never, ever stay at this hotel again.
