Knights Inn in Williams gets an A for effort
The hotel was just OK. It gets an A for effort because the staff obviously make the best of what they have, i.e. an old hotel that needs to be remodeled, but the room was clean. They set out coffee and doughnuts by the entrance in the morning. One bad side: There are only stairs to the 2nd floor rooms so if you have heavy luggage, it will be quite a load if you get an upstairs room.
Make sure to reserve a first floor room if you have heavy luggage as they only have stairs in this hotel and carrying luggage to the second floor is a hassle.

Nice Location
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is not interested in being pampered. For my family and I, this was enough since we planned to only sleep there. Being close to the canyon was wonderful and the delightful western town of Williams was a real treat to visit. If you have a chance, catch the gunfight each night at 7pm. Merchants in town can give you the scheduled locations. The hotel desk clerks were very friendly and attended to our requests quickly. Since so many previous reviews mentioned unfriendly staff, I made sure to smile and acknowledge them cheerfully. I had no problems with them at all. Make sure to take your alarm clock or ask for wake-up calls since there is no radio/alarm clock as is listed. The free daily paper is one to be used by all and can be found by the free breakfast muffins and coffee. The banana/blueberry muffins were a treat, but some additional variety through the week would have been nice. Wake-up calls were punctual and they have a terrific TV cable system.
