very nice staff

Loud Area, Stay Elsewhere
While we got a lot of room for the price there were several things that caused concern. The biggest problem was the noise. As another viewer may have stated, there are a lot of motorcycles that congregate near the hotel. On a Thursday night stay we probably heard motorcycles for hours. At one point it was about like someone chopping down a tree with a chainsaw right outside our window. Another concern was the cleaning and maintenance of the room. I feel I am more lenient with this and not a neat-freak, but our sink was dirty upon entering. It looked like dried soda and cigarette ash or pepper was in the sink. The cleaning person had neglected to clean it because it was not "ground-in." When I started to throw some water around in the sink it quickly started to come off, meaning the cleaning person had forgotten or not bothered. Also, the phone in the bedroom was missing its instruction card and also had what looked like dried soda on it. The remote in the lounge area of the room did not work properly to change channels and upon further inspection the batteries were being held in the remote with masking tape. The location is good for tourism as it is near a trolley stop and within walking distance to the Alamo and Riverwalk. However, the noise factor will not make me recommend this hotel. Stay a little further down the street in a Courtyard by Marriott. It is closer to the trolley stop anyway and might be further away from the bikers.

Efficient, Clean and convenient to downtown if willing to walk
Room was very large and comfortable Bed was a bit hard for my tastes, but not a detriment to the quality of hotel Very convenient to downtown and riverwalk if you do not mind a twenty minute walk, great exercise
