Ok for a Pitstop
The Comfort Suites in Southport was an okay hotel to lay your head at night but not much more. It was way overpriced but because its holiday season and not may hotels, it makes sense. My one grievance were the pillows. The pillows were extremely small and too soft. My husband and I woke up with sore necks and backs. It would be good to have larger pillows or plenty small ones. Otherwise, hotel was clean, fast service, and again, a good place to crash after a long day at the beach. The breakfast was good and quick and the woman overseeing the cafeteria was very pleasant.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Not much to do in Southport unless you’re a history fan but Wilmington is 40 minutes away and there’s a lot to do there. We also went to Bald Head Island and wish we had another day to spend there - plenty to do there.

Snug comfortable room. Good work-in-room environment.
Good location to Southport. Very good resturants in close proximity. Very comfortable beds and linen. Not good for having meetings in room. To small and only one chair. Work environment in the room is very good, however, free internet that worked well. Would stay again.

Sorry, if you are from the West Coast, North Carolina seafood sucks. Good mexican food though.

Nice Hotel
I had a large room with a sofa and two beds. The room was clean and the beds were pillow topped and very comfortable. The only thing I disliked was that it was a a non-smoking hotel, but when I took my daughter(8) to the pool there were two ashtrays sitting by the pool and cigarette butts all over the place.
