Fell just a little short...
Just returned from a weekend trip to this hotel and spa. The first thing is that it is extremely difficult to find. Directions wont get you there. We actually had to meet one of the front desk staff at a nearby gas station and follow her back to the hotel. Secondly, our room wasnt ready once we got there. The front desk was very nice however and let us sit in the restaurant and have drinks while we waited. The hotel itself is new, clean, and ultra-modern. It has a nice atmosphere, but the color of the decor is dark, making it seem smaller than it really was. The room was nice and very clean. You even get a choice of pillows if you dont like the pillows already on the bed. The bathroom was my favorite, with a spa-like feel and open shower. Breakfast in the am was a typical European breakfast with pastries and such. Nothing to write home about. I had time for a massage while there. It was an aromatherapy massage for an hour. In my experience of massages (which I think is pretty vast), it was ok. I prefer deep tissue massages, and this one was not. It was more like rubbing fragrant oils on my skin for an hour. Nice and relaxing, but not what I hoped for. The spa itself is great and I think that is the hotels best feature (i.e. the sauna, steamroom and whirlpool area). Overall, it was a very nice, clean, modern hotel in the middle of nowhere. I wouldnt mind staying again however, I think that I might prefer a hotel closer to the water next time.
