Very Satisfied, will return.

Perfectly located within steps of the ski gondola, an ice rink, hot tubs, a movie theater, and restaurants. Also, it was a block from a grocery store, and just a few blocks from Lake Tahoe. (FYI we stayed in a one-bedroom/living/full kitchen suite.) The room was very attractive and well appointed, and comfortable. Finishes in kitchen and bath were very up-to-date, including mosaic tile backsplash and granite. The dining area was set off by a chandelier on a dimmer switch. Nice touches. I gave 3 stars on service because when I called the spa, it was already closed for the day, even though the posted hours showed it should be open- I found this inconvenient.

Didn’t want to leave!

We have been to Lake Tahoe many times and have stayed at a few places, but this hotel was by far the best! The grounds are beautiful, love the valet and being greeted at every corner...not something you expect for such a reasonably priced hotel! We stayed in a 3 room suite, there were 6 of us total, 4 adults and 2 kids...there was more than enough room and then some. We spent a lot of time on the big balcony taking in the fresh air. The proximity to the casinos, restaurants etc is great, everything is within walking distance. We will definitely stay there again and can’t imagine staying anywhere else!

Nice place, nice people, but one thing bothers me

First, the hotel. Great location right in Heavenly Village. Great access to lots of things including the gondola. Hotel was very nice. Staff very friendly. Room in great condition. Did have a little problem getting the temperature where we wanted it. The thermostat seemed fairly schizophrenic. But that’s a minor gripe. My one complaint (and this may not be limited to this hotel) was the ridiculous parking fee. I understand paying for parking, but not at the place I am paying to stay. $22 a day plus tips for the valet every time you want your car??? That’s ludicrous. And the whole town conspires to make you pay it by ticketing you for parking anywhere, even in the parking lot of a closed grocery store. I ended up parking two blocks away at Harrah’s, the only free parking I could find. I will say, the whole parking fiasco was a real turn-off and actually will prevent us from going back to Tahoe. I’ve traveled a lot, stayed a lot of places, and never felt so threatened over anything so mundane as parking as I felt in Tahoe. One big racket and I just don’t get it. Most places relying on tourism for their livelihood treat visitors like they matter. Not Tahoe. Pay a ridiculous fee or be ticketed and towed!

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Stay at Harrah’s or one of the other casinos and save $25 a day minimum just by not being extorted for parking money.

Keep going back!!

Once again the Marriott’s lived up to our expectations. This is our 3rd visit in the past 2 years in Lake Tahoe and we have found this to be the best place to stay.

not at all what I thought it would be

parking is a joke and expensive. To get to our room we had to go outside of the hotel and wind around shops to get to the right elevator. Our room was not what was shown or what I had reserved, we were located on the 3rd floor what felt like the attic. The service was not very friendly. How ever the cleaning service was the best! I would really think twice about staying there!

What a fantastic place!

The Marriott Grand Residence Club is a fabulous place. We had a one bedroom two bath suite and it was so wonderful! I don’t know the square footage of the room, but I think it was bigger than my first apartment! It was squeeky clean and the kitchen was great. The beds were really comfortable and the bedding was really comfy. I can’t wait to go back!! The staff was really helpful and very nice. The pool was great.

Really Nice Place!

We got the 2bed/3bath suite, since we were entertaining some visitors form Mexico City, and, boy!, every body was really impressed! Fully equiped kitchen, everything was neat and clean. Short walk to the casinos. The guys at Reception and Valet Parking were always ready to help by providing info and directions.

Traveler's tip on dining

Check out the Chart House Restaurant. Excellent seafood and steak dishes. Our waiter, Rachel, is the best!

Nice place

Comfortable and spacious! My husband, son and I loved staying here. The rooms were comfortable, the kitchen fully furnished with all the necessary utensils. The pool was nice and the staff helpful. We only stayed 2 nights but we would definitely stay longer in the future.

Highly Recommend!

I would highly recommend this hotel! I am somewhat germ-phobic and was prepared to do some cleaning when I arrived, but the room was absolutely spotless. They had fantastic customer service, wonderful location, and many extras at the hotel. Also, a beautiful view from the window. I really enjoyed the lodge theme, and am looking forward to returning someday. A+

Very very nice hotel

I rented a room at the Marriott for my sister and new brother n law for their honeymoon get away and was very impressed. I have never stayed there myself and was very skeptical. But when I called the morning of checking in they where very accommadating to my needs. The room has every comfort of home, the valet was very nice and attentful, the lobby was inviting, and the woman at the reservation desk was very warm and inviting! I would recommend the Marriott Grand Residence for any occasion.

Absolute Luxury

Fantastic place to stay. We felt like we were the only ones there, everything is so quiet and well run. The room was more than we needed and the bed, absolutely comfortable!!! I noticed that others feel the same about the bed, that’s why they sell the linens online!

Very Nice Stay

This place has everything needed for a family. It’s convenient to a well stocked grocery store so the kitchen is a money saver. Also the outdoor pool is nice for the kids to play in even in the snowy winter. The sauna room is great for our sore body. We look forward to go back there for our next winter ski trip.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Great ski resort - it’s walking distance to the gondola.

A beautiful place to stay!

We purchased our trip to Lake Tahoe through Expedia and really didn’t know anything about the area. We chose this hotel because of its location as well as comparable price to other hotels. Imagine our surprise when we found out we were staying at one of the most beautiful hotels in Lake Tahoe! The location couldn’t be beat (the Heavenly gondola was outside our front door!) and the view was unbelievable! We can’t wait to go back!

Mostly great, but poor internet

This hotel was great- beautiful in ski season, clean, well equipped kitchen. sofa, internet. We visited this hotel in ski season and it was beautiful. We stayed in a studio condo, which was clean, with a well-equipped kitchen and jacuzzi tub. However, unlike shown in the pictures/room 360 video, there was no ’living room’ area or even sofa; just a bed and kitchen table. This was a bit disappointing for us. The worst thing, however, was the internet. We partly selected this hotel as it had high speed internet, but it was so slow that we couldn’t really use it to check email (when we tried, it took 10 minutes to load and a small download text file attachment took 8 hours). We later found out that it’s because people were illegally downloading files (there is no password to restrict internet to hotel guests only) and they can’t do anything about it. It didn’t improve over the 4 days we were there. Overall though, a nice place to stay- DVD rental in the lobby for $4 a night kept us entertained when the gondola was closed due to weather.

Very nice, Most was very good.

Everything was very good. The only downside was that the bed was very soft. This gave us both sore backs.

Great weekend

Great hotel for a quite weekend or close enough to walk into Nevada and get into trouble at the casinos. First time in Tahoe staying on the CA side...it’s nice getting out of the elevator and not hear slot machines.
