Better than expected
Some reviewers said this hotel was below their expectations so I was worried about what I might find. The only thing I can actually comment to the bad is that their AC does not create the Arctic Blast we Americans are used to getting in hotels. But this is merely the way they save on energy costs. I found the room to be very clean, very nice and the hotel staff willing to help at anytime asked. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone whose stay requires them to be in this side of town.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
This hotel is not expensive. The bus stop and the Tram stops are with in a minute walking distance and can get you anywhere you would like to go in Barcelona.

lack of ac ruins nice hotel
This is a lovely hotel but the ac does not cool the room at all. The room was a good size (for Europe and the price) and the Diagonal has a very nice pedestrian walkway with restaurants and a mall/grocery store nearby. But after a hot day touring I did not enjoy coming back to a room that would not get cool.
