The Caravelle-Great place to stay!

The weather did not cooperate during our stay, but the hotel and staff were great! If we have to be rained in, The Caravelle is the place to be! We had not been since they remodeled. The place is beautiful!

Would not return

Nothing special. The service was really slow, room not on time as promised at 3pm. Several problems with the room keys not working that took them forever to fix. That said the beach and pools were great. The area was also nice for families. Got it at a discount so ok but would never pay full price.

Beach View

Our "Beach View" room actually had a great beach view. We stayed somewhere else recently that you had to lean over the balcony to see the beach.

Not Happy

The room was not clean and the funiture required cleaning. The hotel store closed very early and the resturant was only open for breakfast. The breakfast was the best part. Would not stay again.

good service-after room switch

-when we got there, they gave us a room in the tower=Horrible. The room was very outdated and just plain gross-I guess the oldest part of the hotel BUT- when we called the service desk, they immediately changed us to an ocean front in the large main (Obviously newer) building w/ no hassle-SO Much Better! Comfy bed Lg room Great water pressure Nice modern decor And buffet breakfast But Don’t Let Them Put You In That Awful "Tower" Beside The Large Building

Check out construction before going!

Our condo was under renovation. The pool at our location was closed, the main pool was closed for the first 3 days we were there. Workers working on our belcany early in the morning.

Stay elsewhere

The staff that checked us in did not say hello or thank us for anything. Simply asked for my credit card, showed me a map of where our room was, and told us the check out date and time. The staff that checked us out said NOTHING until after we handed over the keys and all she said was, "That’s it. You’re checked out." The staff would always get on the elevator first even if that meant the guests would not be able to get on....and have to wait forever for the next one to get there. Our room was as far away from the beach as you could get even though there were other ocean front rooms that were vacant. Our toilet didn’t flush and we had to have maintenance fix it. He left the floor wet....and the person who took the call never apologized for the inconvenience. The tub woud not drain when taking a shower so were standing in filling bath tub. If we opened the balcony door, the entrance door would howl horribly due to the wind factor. The free breakfast was cold or hard depending on what we chose. The tables were always full or dirty so there was always a wait, regardless of what time we went to eat.

Great Hotel for Kids...would take them back!

We enjoyed our stay at the Caravelle...my kids loved the pool area and our breakfast was great at the Santa Maria. It was priced right and would definitely take my kids back there again!

Look Somewhere Else!!!

This hotel is not what it is portrayed to be on the internet. I was under the impression that it had recently been renovated which it was slightly. The bathroom was not new looking at all the tub had stains and holes where the fixtures were supposed to be replaced. The elevators were dirty, well the hotel overall was dirty looking and smelly. They did a poor job of renovating. There were a ton of families staying there but I couldn’t dream of making my little ones stay in that wreck of a hotel. Pay a few more dollars and look elsewhere people!!!!!!

The Caravelle

The Caravelle was a really nice resort to stay in. We were there for 3 nights during my kids’ spring break. I recommend anyone to stay there. I really liked it. They have a really, great breakfast buffet, too. I would stay there again.

Impressive

My wife and I returned to Myrtle Beach, SC to celebrate our 1st year wedding anniversary. It was our first stay at The Caravelle. It was just like the video: *New furniture in our suite *Freshly painted room *Very good service *Hot full free breakfast We enjoyed our stay very much. If we visit Myrtle Beach again it would be at The Caravelle.

Using Expedia was cheaper than hotel website.

I would surely go there again.

The room was spacious and well appointed, with beautiful spreads and tables. The kitchen was wonderful to have for drinks and late night snacks. The view from our room was awe-inspiring.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Try the online dinner purchases and sites tickets. It saves quite a bit of money and the service was wonderful.

Great kid-friendly hotel. Good value considering low pricing.

This hotel provides an excellent outdoor water area for the kids. All of the outdoor pools and waterpark areas were heated and was a great place to let the kids run wild while the winds were blowing on the beach. We stayed in the Sea Watch Tower and were not impressed. It is undergoing exterior remodeling, therefore a lot of scaffolding and plastic covers the balconies and blocks the ocean views. During the day, beware of the construction noise. Sea Watch Tower also did not have wireless interent access. There was no mention of this in the hotel’s description, which provided much inconvenience when a sudden work deadline was given and we had to sit in the breakfast area to complete our work. The included "free" breakfast was only for 2 adults, another unstated fact. Our 3 bedroom unit did have a full-size washer and dryer. The furniture was aged and worn. It was a great deal and for the value a good place to stay. While we are pinching pennies, this will be one of our destinations.

Not impressed

Did not get the room type we requested. Wanted king bed got two doubles. Did not get ocean front, got ocean view. The personnel were very courtious and overall the hotel was o.k.

For the $ it’s okay

The hotel needs updating and major cleaning. For the money and being right on the beach, it’s an okay place to stay if you’re not going to be at the hotel a lot.

Definitely make time for Broadway at the Beach and the Bonefish Grill is a fantastic place to eat- great seafood!

Great weekend trip

My wife and I stayed at the Caravelle over the weekend, and we absolutely loved our room. We did the king efficiency. The balcaony was almost as big as the room with a great view of the ocean. The room appeared to have been renovated recently (flat screen tv, new fixtures, updated bathroom, etc.) so everything felt fairly new. We would definitely stay there again.

Good times

Our stay at the hotel was very good. the staff was professinal, and courtous. And the room was fantastic. Definatly a top pick for a great place to stay.

This Hotel was not friendly

The pictures that you see online may not be wear they put you. I thought I was gonna have this romantic room over looking the sea and I got an aweful looking hotel on the side with a terrible view. I would not recommend this Hotel and they did not try to make it right. Very unfriendly.

Nice Hotel

It is a nice hotel. We really enjoyed the pool. We didn’t get the room we were supposed to get, but it was not a bad room. Our only complaints were we couldn’t wireless internet connection and the elevators were extremely slow.

ok hotel theres different caravelle hotel the one we stayed at seemed more like a motel

it was a comfortable hotel but the hotel quality was not good

not impressed

Was the worst vacation i’ve ever taken .They make it sound like its right on the beach but its actually two buildings away.Also had my beach towell stolen ?Back door to the balcony wouldn’t close and needed repaired.Accidently left my car keys and a pair of sun-glasses in the room. Had to make several calls just to get it reported to the right person.Bad expierence?

Not Overly Impressed

When we checked into our room, our closet had no doors on it. Not wanting to deal with switching rooms (which was the only option) we decided to stay put with no closet doors. This led to multiple lock-outs on the safe provided by the hotel because our 1.5 year old really liked to push all the buttons. The elevators took a REALLY long time. The main areas of the hotel were not kept very clean. The pool is on the side of the hotel, and there is no sun on it in the morning, so it is cool by the pool in the morning-which is not my preference. There was an odor in the kitchen-i am pretty sure it was coming from the sink. we had to leave the bathroom fan on the entire week in order to help with the smell. The location was good, the price was fine, and the toddler pool was great. The other pools were pretty dirty and the towels provided were always out and when they were available, they were just slightly bigger than a hand-towel (pack your own towels!)

Overall will not go back and will NOT recommend to others

Hotel elevators were super slow and always, always wet. Hallways were HOT. Did not like to register in one area and housed in another area. Carts were not readily available for transporting luggage. Front desk "slow" to register. Overall would rate -0-. Definitely will NOT stay there again!

This was a pretty good place to stay

The rooms were nice. They were clean and quiet. I would stay there again if I had too. The only bad thing was the access to the pools and the size of the pools, not very bad and kind of hard to find if you are staying somewhere other than the main hotel.
