OK, but nothing great if you don’t ask for specifics.

This is a 3-star hotel trying to be a 5-star hotel. If you book, make sure to ask for the type of bed you want (we were on our honeymoon and ended up with twin beds) and a view of the ocean. Despite the "every room has a view" claim, some of the "views" (including ours) is of a teeny garden between two parts of the building. When I complained about all of this, they did send champagne to the room. Not terrible, but not great. The view of the ocean from the pool and restaurant is lovely.

Dated, but nice

Yes, the hotel is dated. The furniture is VERY dated. But you dont go to stay in the room... So depends what you want and what you expect. If the price is right for you, I think you should go there. Just be sure to get a "full" sea-view room (not a lateral or back view; they try to sell the lateral as sea view although you broke your neck to see the sea there :)) The night program ends at midnight, the bar closes at 1 am, and nobody dances even though there is live music almost every night. The outdoor pool is kind of deep, so be sure you swim ok. The indoor pool is heated and not so deep and is linked with a nice jacuzzi. The gym is small but well equipped and you shouldn’t have problems finding it free, as not so many seem to work out on holyday :) The room is big and very clean, but the furniture and tv VERY dated. I dont really care about this, but a lot seem to do... And I think they could change a little as the hotel is not really cheap. The room terrace is great. The beach of the hotel is... a little hard to get to it (esp if you are 70 :)), but there are steps. But you shoudn’t sleep on it, as in the afternoon the sea covers it completely. There is a full beach only around noon. The swimming is hard there, but a lot of beautiful, small beaches are around, very close. We loved going every day to another beach. Hotel tips: the elevator - if you call the left one surely the right one comes. and viceversa :) also be careful at the hall ceiling as it may fall on you :)

amazing view!

Hotel itself appears a little old, although the cleanliness and location are amazing. First impression is that you are entering a tropical paradise. Staff is the most friendly I’ve ever seen, there is free internet in the hotel and overall pretty good spot. When we were there it was more of an older crowd, which was over Christmas. Breakfast is buffet style and is pretty good especially with the amazing view of the water from the restaurant.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

make sure you visit the nearby attractions such as Lagos, Portimao, and even the tip of Portugal, the view is incredible!
