Small and sweet

We stayed for 2 nights and we were very satisfied with the condition of the rooms in this ideally located hotel, within walking distance from the main attractions. In case you do not feel like walking, particularly when coming back after a day out in the old city , just hop on one of the small white electric buses which will drop you close to the hotel - and it is free ! Need to point out that there is no lift at the hotel and the stairs are quite narrow, but we could live with that. In general the space for common areas has been kept down to the minimum, but they have managed to put up a laptop with free internet access - may not be sufficient for business travellers, but as leisure travellers we enjoyed that hotel representing good value for money.

Great, with room for improvement

The hotel was wonderfully located! It was just the right distance from the old city (we prefered not to stay in the old city, but right outside of it) and on a restaurant and pub street. This did not have a detrimental effect (such as noise) yet it did keep us very close to everything we needed! The only reason this hotel did not get the full score is the carpets. The room was amazing, but the carpet looked like a flee farm, and very dirty. Maybe it’s just cause it was old, but in that case they will be better off without a carpet at all, cause the wodden floor was good enough, and the room itself was beautiful (including an electric fireplace...) Oh, another thing - you put DVD players in the room, and you have 7 DVDs in the reception for the guests to enjoy - so why charge them 3$ per movie? Since it’s such a ridiculous price, might as well just make it into an amenity... But overall - we were really glad to have chosen this hotel!!

Nice Price and Good Location

You don’t need to stay at a hotel inside the walls of Old Town to enjoy Quebec City. Old Town is only 3 blocks away and there are plenty of resturants to enjoy on your walk. The breakfast was bad: the cressants and cheeses were very dry; even though it was free, we didn’t eat breakfast after the first day. I would stay at this hotel again. Very convinent to everything and I would stay at this hotel again.

Everything you buy including food, drinks and T-shirts, etc. are taxed twice. Yes, there are 2 different taxes. Don’t get a rental car; just take a taxi to your hotel, everything to see is so close; a car rental would be a waste unless you plan on driving out of Quebec.
