Good quality and service
Conveniently located near tram and subway stop. I was taken by surprise for the 30 Euro charge for a so-so breakfast buffet.

Convenient location
The "dreary" office building mentioned here is part of the Humboldt University, though what it was in its past life I couldnt say. The hotel is located yards from the Zinnowitzer Str U-bahn station, which connects you easily and quickly to all the sights in town. There are also a few wall remnants within walking distance, as well as the Wall Memorial exhibit. And theres a museum right next door! The rooms are rather small, but if youre planning to visit the city, you wont be spending much time in it. Breakfast (not included) is expensive, but a good option for the check-out day so you dont have to drag your luggage.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Skip breakfast at the hotel (14 Euro in 12/07) and walk to the coffee shop on the corner of Chausee Str and Invalidenstr. Or take a right on Chausee and buy rolls and coffee at any of the bakeries. Or take the U6 to Friedrichstr and go to any of the bakeries there.

Dreary location
Excellent staff. Room had all the needed features but was compact (only one chair for two people). View across the street was some featureless, East Berlin office monstrosity covered with graffiti - disconcerting. Not far from RR station but nowhere near the action. Very close to Subway.
