Nice hotel at a great rate

The MonteCarlo hotel was nice hotel for the price we paid and I would stay there again. The rooms are not big, but I am not sure any of the hotels in Rome are large. But it was just a place to sleep for us. The front desk was always helpful with our questions and directed us to a nice resturant (Mama Angelos). It is in a pretty quiet neighborhood and we were able to walk from the train station and many other attractions. There is a main bus stop about 3 blocks from the hotel and there are several resturants to choose from in the area. We always felt safe walking around even late at night. I think they advertise internet in the rooms, but there is no cable in the room to hook it up. i was kinda confused on that -if I had a cable could I have hooked it up? Anyway they charged us 15 euro for unlimited access for our stay to use it in the lobby area or computer room and that was not too bad. They also allowed us to check in 2 hrs early which was great after a 10 hr flight and much appreciated. We did not spend the extra to get breakfast-that seemed a little pricy 20 euro a day to get the breakfast for 2 of us. All in all we had a nice stay at the Montecarlo and would recommend it.

Great Hotel about a 20 Minute Walk to the Sights

The Montecarlo Hotel was lovely. It was about a 10 minute walk from the Termini train station with luggage and about a 15-20 minute walk from many of the sights. It’s also 5 minutes or less to a metro that takes you directly to the Coloseo. The room was nice and quiet. It was clean and comfortable. There were two elevators available to get us to our room. We were in their second building, but both buildings are attached so it was no problem. The breakfast was delicious and included in the fee. We did not have a car, so we can’t speak to parking. However, using mass transit was easy and cabs were relatively inexpensive. The best way to see Rome, though, is by walking. While slighly removed from the historical center, it’s close to many other things and I always felt safe walking around near the hotel. I would recommend it to someone who is looking for a deal in Rome or who doesn’t mind staying just outside the "place to be".

Wonderful hotel! Recommend for everybody.

Rome hotel "Montecarlo" is great! Clean, comfortable, great location - not far from Termini station, but it is very quite. Very nice management - helpful and polite. Definitely will stay there again. Thanks!
