Sophisticated boutique hotel
We were only in Barcelona for an overnight stay after a cruise, but this hotel was extremely convenient to the Cathedral, Picasso museum as well as terrific restaurants and night life. We loved this small but well run boutique hotel and would love to have spent more time here as well as in Barcelona.

Excellent hotel
The Duquesa de Cardona was situated perfectly, across from the Port Vell marina and a short walk to La Ramblas, Barceloneta and all public transportation. The staff was very friendly and the room was very nice. Their sangria was the best Ive had and it was nice to drink it from the rooftop bar while overlooking the harbor. I would definitely stay there again and have already recommended it to others traveling to Barcelona.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
The hotel was just a short walk to the tourist center on La Ramblas, where it was perfect to buy a 1 or 2-day red bus touristic pass that took you to all the major sites in Barcelona. I highly recommend using this open-air bus as you can hop on and off all day and spend as much time as you like at the various locations.

Great Location, Good Views
Very pleasant hotel in a great location along the waterfront. Convenient access to the metro system was a big plus, but its also a short, pleasant walk to Las Ramblas, Barri Gotic, and Barceloneta. Room was on the small side and had no view, but was nonetheless comfortable - and why spend time in your room when youre in Barcelona. One criticism would be the lack of good Internet access - in-room wireless was ridiculously expensive and the free access from the "business center" was slow and unreliable. At a hotel in this price range, would expect Internet to be free.
