The Resort & Club at Little Harbor

Not impressed

While the grounds at Little Harbor and the staff friendly, the hotel definately needs a remodeling or at least better maintenance. The bathroom fixtures were not in good working order and the room very small and dated. The cleaning crew needs better supervision. On one day, the toilet was not cleaned well and the bathroom never really looked clean. The carpeting is very old and didn’t appear to be vacuumed each day. In retrospect, we should have insisted on a change in our accomadations. We would not return.

Check out the "Fish House" located down the road from the Little Harbour Resort. Excellent fish dinner and friendly staff.

quiet and secluded

We stayed in Bldg A in 3 tower buildings in front of marina. Very nice decor and rooms were very cozy. Only thing I’d change is a King bed over the queen the room offers. Resort overall is nice if you want seclusion and quiet. Be aware that there is not much outside the resort.

very nice hotel.we stayed in the 3 br condo with dck overlooking the harbour.very spacious and comfortable.equip with all ammenities.house cleaning very prompt.we would stay there again.

Not much to do in the area but great place to stay! AMAZING SUNSETS!!!

We had a small issue with our door not working but they fixed the issue. Pool is not the most impressive but good enough. The restaurant that they have on property was amazing. Watched the sunset and the backdrop of downtown Tampa was amazing and memorable. Good live music and a great stay after a small bump in our stay.

Don’t Bother!

If you book a standard room like I did, you end up in remodeled 1950 era hotel. Although they did a nice job decorating the room, it had a strong musty smell. The bed was the worst I had ever slept in and after the second night I checked out early. They had attempted to clean the carpets in the hallway outside my room, but they didn’t leave the exterior doors open so the carpet could dry. That resulted in a very strong mildew smell. Although I would not recommend anyone stay there, the staff was very friendly. One more note, the hotel is not located in a very good part of town. The main road leading into the hotel area is very run down and not what you would imagine for a vacation.

Horrible Place

This place is a big new condo development in a run-down area that has gone bad and turned into a ’resort’. It’s remote, completely deserted (in a bad, dumpy area), there’s no local services, and the food at the restraunt is highly over-priced and just bad. The beach? Huh, the tiny little strip next to the parking lot? Oh, I thought it was the trash can storage. (get the picture?) If you want to be on the water just go to St. Pete or Clearwater Beach and you’ll be much happier!

Best Kept Secret on the West Coast of Florida

Found this Gem on Expedia, and was blow away by the quality of the operation and facilities. The view was Awesome [a studio on the Marina Side] WHAT A SUNSET! Very well kept resort, excellent dining room operation and great waterside lounge.

Traveler's tip on dining

Try the little Fish Stand on the way to the Resort, great Grouper sandwichs. The resort dining was fine also.

Would go back

The condo’s were very nice. We enjoyed the beach and the pools. The staff at restaurant and tiki bar could have been better at making us feel wanted. There isnt much else going on in Ruskin. Pretty close to other cities.

Enjoyed the too brief visit

Aside from not having a convenient ice machine the view, the room and the service were excellent. There was some confusion on the bill so they promised to send a final statement showing paid thru Expedia but I have yet to receive that; assuming there are no snafus on that I would recommend this facility.

Very Impressed

As we were driving from Tampa to this area, we were a little worried about how this resort was going to be. As we got closer, it looked like a better area. The resort itself was beautiful! It is only 2 years old, very clean and well maintained. There is a marina right off of the bay, and the rooms overlook the marina and Tampa Bay. Across the Bay, you can see the skyline of St. Petersburg and St. Pete’s Beach areas. It was a family oriented resort with a private beach. The restaurant had terrific food and wasn’t too overpriced. It was very relaxing and we would definitely go back again!

I had the most fabulous time this past march at the resort. The condo was gorgeous, the staff excellent especially the groundsmen/maintenance....loved them. Not to the mention the best bartender at the tiki lounge Jamie..she was the best

beautiful condo on the bay

They upgraded us to a condo, which wasfantastic, all the comforts of home, full kitchen with all appliaces, large table & nice living area, with balcony.

Traveler's tip on dining

Not a lot of places to dine near by, but we did have some great fish & shrip at a local take out shack down the street from the resort.

Quiet getaway

The resort has rooms facing Tampa Bay overlooking their beautiful marina. There are many residences / condos, but the place was very quiet. The private beach and restaurant were wonderful.

There is a nearby manatee viewing center with free admission. We enjoyed watching about a hundred manatees basking in the warm water!

Great hide-away

This was a great find. If you are a boater, you couldn’t do better, with 2 marinas on site. The restaurant and bar were great and the view of the Tampa skyline across the harbor can’t be beat.

We would go back to the Resort!

The Resort was very nice and clean when we arrived. All of the employees at the resort was very friendly and glad to help when needed. My boyfriend and I had a great time there. We would go back again!

LOOKING FOR GREAT COMFORT AND TRANQUILITY

We were looking for s short, comfortable and restful week and we found it! A drive away from so many attractions, yet hidden away from the turmoil of Rustin, we found fun and relaxation in one place. The apartment was spacious and clean, right on the harbor. We will certainly return.

It was good, but not what we expected

The hotel service is wonderful, any complaint we had they handled well. Our first room the tv was bad and the toilet ran. So they upgraded us. They need new carpets and things like that. The rooms are very comfortable and clean.

Very nice place

The Resort at Little Habour is a very nice hotel, and their food is excellent. The views are great and we highly recommend this place. It is about 45 minutes south of Tampa International Airport and is very rural, but a great get away for a few days. The pools are nicely kept, and there is a small beach to walk on as well.

Nice and quiet in off season

Little Harbor is a great resort that we love to stay in while visiting family in Florida. Rooms are nicely decorated and clean, but just a little on the small side. Not a huge issue, but something my husband commented on. The resort’s Sunset Grill always has great food, a wide variety to choose from. And the tiki bar is great to hang out at and watch the sunset. We also used the two pools (one small one and one larger) and they were a bit chilly. But that’s to be expected this time of year. Just jump in the hot tub by the big pool to warm up! We love Little Harbor and will definitely return.

Great Little Place

We have family in Apollo Beach and Sun City. With the quiet beach and Sunset Lounge, Little Harbor is perfect for us. Our 6-year-old son has a blast playing in the sand and water. We can relax and keep an eye on him with little worry. Rooms are very nice. Restaurants are good. Decent local fare is not too far away in Ruskin.

going back next spring

Third time here and okay as close but not crowded and off into like the country only with ocean, sunset and sunrise views!!!!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Just plan on just staying here and not driving anywhere except maybe into ruskin to eat or get groceries as refrigerator, stove and mico in room. also very great surrounds, tennis, exercise room, jac and heated pools, ocean swimming et all all without driving!!!

Secluded retreat

This resort has wonderful possiblities. It was extremely secluded which was enjoyable and relaxing. The room was smaller than we had expected but the awesome view of the river and seeing manatee and dolphins everyday made up for it. Some of the amenities listed on the website were no they no longer offer(Tennis pro shop and pro) but we were still able to enjoy the stay. I would stay again for the view and quiet. I understand that it is under new ownership and is trying to growing. I hope it does.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

You will need to bring activities for the kids. If you want something other than the food at the hotel you will need a car.

Japanese style looked ok. Tile floor in room was dirty. They forgot to call for my wakeup call. View of bay was obscured in many of the waterfront rooms. Balconies are nice though.
