Legendary Hotel Has Insane Potential But Needs a Room Revamp
Upon driving up to this legendary hotel, I was extremely impressed with my selection. The U shaped drive, white lights, and hacienda style details are romantic and charming. Our room, located on the south side with a mountain view had its own patio and charming two seat bistro set. Im an avid reader and sat down to read a couple chapters of "Bedside Stories" by the author of the hotel. I was surprised to learn that many celebrities of the past stayed at this once Palm Springs hot spot. Although the hotel has some major luxurious potential, I felt sorry for the obvious decline in business due to outdated design. The rooms are badly decorated with decor from the 1980s. Not vintage, Im talking wicker...wicker! I recommend a revamp, and quick. Overall, I had a great time, and even met the owner.

Good Value in the Off Season
The hotel is within walking distance of downtown Palm Springs. Unfortunately the hotel itself look very dated and so do the rooms. The swimming pool area also needs a major upgrade. I suggest that you come here in the "off season" when the price is right.

Quiet, old fashioned Palm Springs hotel
We enjoyed our stay and respite from the fancy spa scene. This is a restful place with a pool open 24 hrs, room service and a nice bar filled with baby boomer locals.Downtown Palm Springs is a short walk. The grounds are pretty with knockout views of the mountains.
