Nice, conveinet place to stay - very old!
The area and being so close to Union Square and Greenwhich - but the rooms are small and there are shared bathrooms... Although, the room completely served my purpose, I only needed it for someone clean, safe, and convenient to stay (not to hang out!) I was in NYC!

It was great to be in the city for such a low price
The location of the hotel is great and NYC has great transportation so you can get anywhere fast. Hotel 17 has an antique look inside and the bathrooms are shared. This means that on the same hallway there are at least 2 bathrooms that are shared among 5 or 6 rooms. I must say the restrooms were always kept clean and the showers were great except for on the first night we had no hot water to shower with! Once the front desk was notified they took care of it immediately. Also, when we felt the heat wasn’t hot enough in our room they sent us a portable heater. All in all it was a good experience and I probably would stay there again if I were to get as great a deal as I did this time!
Phebes- was a great place to eat dinner with a friend. Awesome food and nice atmosphere.

Perfect location, quiet, clean, & memorable
To start off, the rooms are SMALL. If you can get past this, Hotel 17 can’t be beat. Perfect location, extremely clean, and unbelievably quiet. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy.
