Highly recommended.
I highly recommend this hotel which is located right in front of the Mestre station. From Mestre you only pay 3euro for a 10-minute-train ride to Venice. It is cheaper and you don’t have to drag your luggages on stairs and bridges and boats in Venice. The Plaza hotel rooms are huge and very clean. Breakfast buffet is excellent and very filling. The staff are very nice and accomodating. Venice is so congested and noisy. If you want some peace at night and save a lot of money, book outside Venice.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Take the ATVO bus from Marco Polo to Mestre at only 3euro. You can get the ticket at a machine right where the bus stops outside the airport. Haggle... you can buy a leather purse at 25-30% less than their tag price.

A home run if you’re visiting Venice.
A beautiful hotel situated across the street from the Mestre train station which is only a 10-15 minute, 1 Euro train ride from Venice. The staff is exceptionally acommodating and very friendly. They could, however, use a doorman to assist you with getting your luggage inside. At less than half the price of a comparable hotel within Venice, The Plaza is an exceptional value which affords you easy access to Venice without schlepping your luggage on water taxis and over bridges. The hotel appears to be recently renovated with comfortable king-size beds and gorgeous baths that contain high-tech features such as towel warmers. Overall, an excellent alternative to staying in Venice.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
The ATVO bus, readily available in Marco Polo Airport, stops diagonally across the street from the Plaza Hotel(Mestre Station stop). This comfortable luxury bus costs only 3 Euro per person as opposed to the 35-40 euro a taxi or car service will cost.

Great place to stay!
Bottom line, I’m cheap. I’m a teacher and don’t have a lot of money to spend, and this hotel was excellent. All I had to do was take a train across the bay, for 1 Euro, and after a 10 minute trip, I’m in Venice. I loved that. And the breakfast buffet was excellent, the room was spotless, quiet and comfortable, with a large shower, and it’s right across the street from the train station. High quality cotton bedding, air conditioning, TV, etc. Everything I wanted, and without the hassel of staying in Venice.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Oh, one thing. Bring your own washcloths. They don’t provide them. Big towels, soap, etc., yes, but nothing to wash with. Must be an Italian thing.
