Great place for families to stay

We stayed in the Penthouse and it was perfect. Very clean and everything was working properly. The breakfast in the morning had lots to choose from,although it would get very busy about 30 minutes before it was to end. Front desk staff always knew tips, directions, or if you were looking for something to do, they would give you a couple options based on what you were looking for. We were there for an entire week and most definately will stay here again when back in the LA area. So nice to have a Target within walking distance.

Couldn’t ask for anything better.

Both myself and my partner were very impressed with the Manhattan Beach Residence Inn. The room was cleaned when we wanted it to be, and left alone when we wanted that. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. The complimentary wireless was very convenient. The pool temperature was perfect and the hot tubs were clean and comfortable. Having a choice of 2 was nice too. Everyone was friendly. The location was perfect for all the tourist things we wanted to do. I don’t have a single complaint. When it comes to visiting the LA area, I will looking into booking here first.

Graduation/Vacation Stay

This was our first stay at the Residence Inn, but not our first visit to the area. I’m hooked I will not stay anywhere else. The staff, the room, and the location were great. Target and Ralphs were in within walking distant. Shuttle service was available for trips to local businesses and the beach. Awesome stay!!

LA Marathon 2009 Stay

Outside of the room being a bit dated, this was a perfect place for our family. The upstairs loft worked out great for my husband and I while the kids slept downstairs in the main guest room/sofa sleeper. We had a full kitchen if we needed it, but b/c of the complimentary warm breakfast, we didn’t use it. My niece needed a sweater/pull over b/c she left hers at home and the nearby Target was perfect. The coast of Manhattan Beach was just a few minutes drive. We have family who lives right in Manhattan Beach so it was very convenient. We traveled as participators of the LA Marathon and coming back to the coast was absolutely perfect after running 26.2 miles. Will definitely stay again for next year’s marathon and another trips to LA in between.

There was a 24 hours Ralph up the street and the Target store. Perfect stores if you need to stock your kitchen.

Nice extended stay place

Don’t expect a beach resort, it isn’t one. But the Residence Inn Manhattan Beach is a perfectly nice place to stay. It is clean and the staff is friendly, and the facilities, although not new are well kept.

Can’t wait to go Back

Stay here all the time! Love the area, the beach is real close.

Disappointed!

I was surprised the Marriott had their name associated with this Hotel. The hotel is next to a car dealership which was noisy till late and it was unattractive to look at as I was looking into their mechanical/car wash area. Penthouse gave me the impression that although it was top floor it would be convenient to get to so I didn’t appreciate helping pull eight big bags up a flight of stairs and then a further flight inside. The look of the penthouse was dated but somewhat homely. As a tip for families stairs inside leading from lounge area to mezzanine which was a second bedroom we’re dangerous for grandmother and 4 year old. Downstairs bathroom and toilet though. The staff we’re pleasant and helpful. The security at night in the driveway was comforting. I can recommend the bar and grill across the road which was open late and had great food. Best hamburger ever!! Extremely convenient to the airport. Under $20.00 taxi fare and about 15 mins.

Amazing Stay

Was extremely pleased with this hotel as well as the amenities. Morning breakfast was not all convenient but also tasty. The staff was a pleasure to deal with. The hotels location was easily accesible to all major attractions as well as highways. Would definetely stay here again!

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

The full kitchen allows for quick meals and snacks...grocery store within walking distance. Plenty of room in the fridge.

Nice Location

Our stay here was basically just a "place to sleep" for the night. Room was spacious, but you may want to ask for a top floor as the people above us were loud walkers at all hours. The breakfast buffet was part of our package & it was better than most places. Although we were up before it started & ventured out to a local place - we made it back in time to sample some things. Nice location - only a mile or so from the beach and close to shopping.

Good value

This hotel basically met my expectations for the price range. The bed was very comfortable and it had small but nice kitchen and living room area. It is close to LAX and relatively close to Manhattan beach. Breakfast was included and it was pretty decent.

Continental breakfast was very good

There was quite a selection of food for the continental breakfast each morning. Personnel were very pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and a good size too.

Would Definitely stay there again

The staff were extremely friendly, and the location was great. There were many choices of restaurants within a 15 mile radius. The Hotel offered breakfast in the morning, and this was not just coffee and danish....it was a full breakfast with make it yourself waffles. In the evening they had a cocktail hour with beer and wine and different items to eat...some of them were enough so that you didn’t even have to go out for dinner. The Hotel is clean, with all the amenities and we would stay there again.

Super bargain

This hotel was clean, the staff was helpful and friendly, the grounds were beautifully manicured, and the breakfast far exceeded our expectations. We will return again and again!

Overall great place to stay

We stayed here for 8 days while my daughter attended figure skating camp at the Toyota Center in El Segundo. We had a 2 bedroom penthouse suite at the back of the property, which abutted a residential neighborhood, so it was quiet. The hotel itself is on a busy road (Sepulveda Blvd). The pool is next to the front office, so it’s not totally quiet from the traffic of Sepulveda Blvd. The pool isn’t very big, but we never felt overcrowded at the pool. There’s also a small hottub. The hotel offers complimentary snacks, soda, juice, beer and wine Mon-Thurs from 5-6:30 or 7:00, I think. We could get snacks and take them out by the pool. There’s a laundry room and a computer with free internet access with a printer in the main building. Complimentary breakfast starts at 6:30 during the week and 7:00 on the week-ends. Housekeeping did a great job cleaning our room. You have the option to not have the maid service clean every day if you’re staying for a long time. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.

There’a Target 2 doors down and several grocery stores nearby if you need to stock the ’fridge in your suite or get supplies for the beach. If you go to the beach (Manhattan, Hermosa, etc.) parking is pretty much all metered and on the street (i.e. no big parking lots), so make sure that you have change with you.

Nice place to stay, but.........

Would stay again, probably. There was a lot of noise from people taking showers in the middle of the night and kids running around late at night also. Room and staff were great, just noisy and rude people.

Great room for a family of four

We always look for accomodations that allow us to be comfortable as a family. For a week long stay we needed three beds - one for me and my husband, one for our 16 year old son and one for our 12 year old. The penthouse suite was the perfect layout. We had a bedroom, a loft and a sleeper sofa. The staff of the hotel was also very knowledgable and friendly. They helped us find our way around and directed us to several resturants. I would recommend this hotel!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Location was a big plus. We were centrally located to the beaches, Hollywood, Dodger stadium and The Home Depot Center.

Nice hotel, but...

The room would be great for 2 but it was cramped for 3 with the sofa bed out. The kitchen is nice but there are only two chairs for the desk. The pool is tiny. There are is no safe in the room and a safe box at the front desk was never available, and the boxes are not big enough for a laptop anyway. Wireless internet is only in the lobby but not in the room. There is a wired interent connection in the room for only one laptop and with a very short cable. The connection was getting stuck at times. The breakfast was OK but the breakfast room was usually very crowded and they were running out of stuff.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

The local beach is much nicer than the big name beaches up North (Venice, Santa Monica) but get a good supply of quarters for the parking, no day parking here.

Spacious studios for 2-4 people

The hotel is located some 3 miles from Manhattan Beach. The location is perfect, there are lots of bars and restaurants and shopping spots in the area. The rooms are spacious, nice large vanity in the bathroom area, lots of closet space. Full kitchen. Parking is free, the breakfast is reasonably good. The hotel is located not very far from the airport. Room service is excellent, all staff are helpful and friendly. A perfect 3 star hotel.

Great Location, Good Value

This is not an upscale hotel by any means, but it was well-priced for the location. Our room had a full kitchen, sleeper sofa, and a fireplace. It was almost like a miniature apartment; my first impression was, "Cute." It would be a great place to stay for an extended visit.
