just wanted cheap hotel room
I did request a non-smoking room which was available on the website, but there were not any non-smoking rooms at check in. The room stunk bad like any cheap smoking hotel room. If that were known I would have stayed somewhere else. Have stayed in worse, room appeared clean.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
call hotel personally if a non-smoking room is wanted by your party. I have kids.

Customer service means alot
This hotel was disappointing. The staff is awesome.Very accommadating. I opened the door to my room and was hit by cigarette smoke. It was a smoking room but it smelled like all the hotel guests came to this room to smoke. The room was dirty, the furniture was dirty and there were stains on the sheets. I walked to the gas station and bought cleaning products and scrubbed the room. I got clean sheets from maid service and remade the bed without the ragged blanket with holes. The couch was so dirty that I put a sheet over it. With a few repairs this could be a nice motel. Paint and repair the walls. Buy new couches,tables and chairs. Hire people that know how to clean. But the owner was very nice and the bed was the best bed I have ever slept in after I sprayed it with disinfectant. Highway in front of motel and nothing on the sides or back. Dull boring area in a city full of things to do. Thank God I had family and friends there. Take my advice spend a little more and stay somewhere else.

Houston is huge so come with an agenda and know how to get to the places you want to go. GPS is awesome.
