Lovely boutique hotel in Vienna
We stayed at the Das Tyrol last week and we couldnt have been more pleased with the accomodations. Our room (upgraded double) was not huge, but very attractively furnished and it seemed like the bathroom had been recently re-done. The staff was unusually welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful- starched white linens and individual china coffee pots- and a very substantial array of rolls, cereals, ham, cheeses, smoked salmon, and fruit. Eggs could be ordered for no extra charge. The location is perfect for sightseeing, as many places are within walking distance and the subway stop is just a very short walk away.
We just got back from a trip to Vienna the first week in November. While it was a little chily and rainy, that didnt really interfere with our sightseeing all that much. Vienna has a terrific underground/tram system. We missed out on the gardens in bloom, but we had the museums and palaces pretty much to ourselves. The weather was actually kind of romatic and conducive to stopping for coffee and pastry!

Always walking
This hotel is in an excellent location. It is elegant, well serviced and excetional in every way. The staff is caring, and knowledgeable. We were very pleased with all aspects. Our room was spacious, the bath had a shower, always a treat in Europe. We definitely would recommend this hotel.
Take the underground. Its fast, easy to navigate and very close to the hotel. This is a walking city as well.
