Badly Impressed
The service of this hotel is close to poor. We arrived at the hotel and no one came to help although we had heavy luggages, the lady did not even try to help. The room we booked was so small that it did not have space to open our luggages. We had to change the room to a bigger one paying a huge difference. We asked at the front desk for a recommendation of a nice place to eat and the lady was not happy at all to help us. The only thing that was fine, was the breakfast and the lady that serve it.

Beautiful hotel, great location, a nice breakfast
We had a fantastic time at our stay at the Relais Santa Chiara Hotel. We also stayed in Lucca and Florence on our trip, and we really enjoyed our time here. The hotel is conveniently located right outside the walls of San Gimignano. The room was nice although the shower was a bit small. Overall the grounds were beautifully maintained. We were disappointed by the lack of WiFi and there was a significant charge for use of their Internet-connected computer - although this seems to be common in Italy. Of the 3 hotels we stayed in on our trip, this had the best breakfast - they even had scrambled eggs (a rarity in Italy!) in addition to the usual Italian fare of meats, pastries, etc.

Lovely Ambience and Service
Very nice place to stay, with a breathtaking view of San Gimignano in the background. The rooms are not fancy, but certainly comfortable. The staff was lovely and extremely helpful.
