Not happy
For the room it was way to expensive. The hotel attendants did not understand english. There was no service. A piece of vital information was left out, Off limits to military personel. Beens our trip was to see a National Guard Graduate things did not go well.

Lack of Service
Halfway through our stay, our room key stopped working, requiring a another trip to the dingy lobby. Absent are the normal in-room services I have come to expect iron, ironing board, hair dryer, coffee maker and clean towels. Not a pleasant experience, and reasons why this hotel is on Fort Leonard Woods "Off-Limits" list.

Graduation-Fort Leonard Wood
I did not like this hotel al all. I am being generous when I say the overall appearance was run down. Sections of the railing on the upper deck had been replaced but not painted, and some of the slats were loose enough that if I didnt carry my grandson he could have fallen through. Their continental breakfast consisted of a single pot of coffee. Its a good thing I didnt rely on the hotel for breadfast. Since I was traveling alone with my grandson, when I checked in and found out I had a second floor room and no elevator, I asked for a first floor room and was told I could not change. I was at the hotel for 4 nights. After the second night, every time I went out I had to get them to reprogram my door key, and I didnt do any thing to deactivate it. The vending machines and guest laundry facilities were in a tiny space at the bottom of the stairs. The laundry was one small coin operated washing machine and one equally small dryer. The soda and snack machines were nearly empty. The hand rails on the pool were all loose and the umbrellas on the picnic style tables were broken and unusable. I gave a two on hotel service only because one of the young men working at the hotel helped me get my luggage up the flight of stairs to the second floor when I checked in, and because the maid was nice and didnt give me a hard time when I asked to an extra towel and wash cloth. I gave room comfort a two also because the air conditioner worked. It was very hot and humid during my stay.
I think Cracker Barrel is one of the better national restaurants for family dining. There is one located at the next exit up from the hotel on I44. If it is needed, there is also a Wal-Mart Super Store around the bend to your left when you leave the Cracker Barrel. If you do a search for Saint Robert, MO, or Pulaski County, MO you will find that there are lots of things for families to do in the area, including a museum on WW II and Korea at Fort Leonard Wood Military Base
