low quality for a high price

This property has a ’Motel-like feel’. It smells musty and my pillow smelled so strongly of smoke that it gave me a headache. Apparently, the entire valley, thus the hotel, is ’non-smoking’, but of course that doesn’t keep people from smoking in the rooms. Still, it would be nice if they ran their pillows through a drier fluff cycle with some sort of odor neutralizing scent. The location is excellent, but we could have stayed at a much nicer property for only $30 more, so this property is not a worth the $/night we paid (which wa less than the normal ’rack rate’.) It would be nice for a family that wants to walk to eateries, etc.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

This hotel is right in Edwards in the Riverwalk - which has cute shops and is centrally located to all attractions of the Vail Valley.

A good hotel in a central location

This hotel was just fine as a place to sleep and get ready for the day. The breakfast was very lacking but the pool was nice and the proximity to the river made for an easy way to relax. Good restaurants and quaint shops near by makes this a deal so near Vail, Beaver Creek and Summit County.

Nice place but make sure your room is not above the bar

We stayed here on a Thursday night, when the bar in the hotel has a band playing. Our room was above the front entrance, near the bar. We didn’t hear the band but we heard the bar patrons talking outside the entrance until 2:30 am. I complained to the desk clerk who told me she would tell the manager about the problem. When I didn’t here back after 2 weeks I called the hotel and was told that the manager had been on vacation but he would called me. He did call me back the following day and resolved the problem to my satisfaction. We stayed here last year and didn’t have this problem.

Nice place, one caveat

A comfortable place, conveniently located in walking distance to restaurants and stores. Everything was fine, except that they have a live band in their bar until 1 AM, and our room was directly above it! No mention of any of this was made when we checked in. They were pleasant enough about relocating us around 11 PM, but you should definitely make sure you get a room far from the bar.

Excellent!

This is an excellent hotel with a good location! It is well kept, clean & quiet with comfortable rooms. I especially liked the in-room guides to local restaurants & attractions. I actuallly would like to go back for more than just one day & experience a real stay with these folks! Thanks!

Great location

Nice location on Riverwalk. Good entertainment in their bar. Continental breakfast is okay, but there’s a wonderful French bakery within 1/2 block. Windows in the suite will open to let in the fresh mountain air. Great front desk service.

6 miles from Beaver Creek, 12 miles from Vail

West of both Beaver Creek and Vail, this is a great little hotel to stay in when you’re tired out after a long day of skiing and want several choices for dinner that you can walk to out the front door. Free parking, nice staff, and very easy to find. Would definitely go back if I didn’t want to stay right in one of the resorts - and it was VERY affordable.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

combine hotel with car rental for travel to and from ski resorts

Very nice hotel

Excellent location, good size, air conditioned (in the summer that is a great thing). I would definitely go back.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

If you go in the summer, go rafting and make sure to head up the mountain from Beaver Creek.

Not what we expected

Having left Vail to go and stay in the smaller town of Edwards, we expected a warm and friendly atmosphere. The contrast between the hotels and staff from Vail to Edwards was huge. The hotel in Edwards was the more expensive one and yet we missed the warmth and friendliness of our hotel in Vail. The room in Edwards didn’t seem as fresh and the staff made us feel like unwelcomed outsiders.

We went in the summer off season for a tournament. Vail definitely caters to the tourist and Edwards is more for the locals. I wouldn’t stay in Edwards again, it was to removed from the tourist attractions. Avon Park was beautiful and I would recommend that area (between Vail and Edwards).

Comfort and Value

Good buy if you don’t have to be in Vail or Beaver Creek proper.

Comfort and Service at an Affordable Price

Hotel was clean and service friendly. Edwards was a great, low-key place to stay. The hotel was within walking distance to the places locals like to go out at night. The hotel restaurant was comfortable and relaxing. Great affordable place to stay.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

There is a bus system from the Eagle County airport that drops you off right across the street from the hotel. It was only a couple bucks versus a more expensive shuttle.

Somewhat pathetic

The first night we ordered in from an outside restaurant and needed some plastic utencils. We called down to the front desk and they said no, they didn’t have any! Housekeeping never showed up to clean our room. And the bed was so uncomfortable we could barely sleep. Needless to say, we will not be going back!
