Poor Doorman Service
The h otel itself was fine. However check in was very difficult --no doorman, or person to help with luggage and parking of car. More of a do it yourself attitude. It was pouring rain and it was very hard to get my luggage and personal items in through the revolving doors with no help at all. The only negative, but a big one.

styling is a little funny, but overall great
This hotel has a lot of things going for it: clean, nice duvets with nice covers, no yucky hotel bedspreads or carpets, aveda products, excellent bathroom. the only drawback as far as i am concerned is that it is a little over-styled and as a result seems a little 2007 in 2009. E.g,. they pipe scents through the ventilation system (vanilla, I think), and you are greeted with a waterfall with the words "inspire . . . integrate . . . investigate . . ." one wall in the room is covered with wallpaper in the pattern of a sweater so you feel like its The Gap -- altogether a bit much. But these things are merely cosmetic. I would most definitely stay there again for the cleanliness of the rooms and the lack of depressing hotel feeling that most places in ottawa give me. overall, it felt fresh, homey, clean, cheerful. Also, nice staff. I would much rather stay here than any other hotel in the city.
