Great Experience

We stayed in this hotel over a weekend and were extremely satisfied with the location and condition of the hotel. The concierge was very helpful in arranging dinner and show reservations and at making helpful suggestions. Toronto is a great city and this hotel made our experience even better.

Great lobby. Awful rooms.

Lobby looked recently renovated, but when I arrived at my room it was clear the rooms had not been. Stained carpet, stained fabric on desk chair, old/dirty fixtures.

Great Service!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the downtown Hilton to be close to an audition that we were both attending, and also to be located right downtown. Unfortunately, we were put in a smoking room, and as non-smokers, it really bothered us at first. We had the fan on for our entire stay, which seemed to make thigns bearable. The room was a little worn, with some paint chipping, but this could’ve been because it was on the smoking floor. The best part about or stay was the service from the management. My luggage had been lost on the way to Toronto, and a piece of luggage arrived that wasn’t mine. It was difficult to try and sort out myself because of our vacation and business plans... but Mark the manager immediately took over the phone calls, and pressured the airline into finding my bag. I’m sure I wouldn’t have received it before I checked out if not for his persistance. He went above and beyond, and really saved our trip!

Inefficient staff

Despite noting a 3.30pm arrival weeks in advance, we still could not check in at this time. When we ordered breakfast in the room, it took 70 minutes to get a simple black coffee, not even a latte or macchiato. When we asked for recommendations for dinner, they sent us into the opposite direction of the street with all the restaurants... When we complained about the very very late coffee in the morning, the staff reacted rather agressively instead of apologizing.

Great location, overall fine

It’s at a fine location, and we had a good deal on the price, so it worked out well. Only minor complaint is that even though the reservation was for two people, there was only coffee, towel, etc. for one. And on one of the days when the cleaning service came, they did not leave coffee for the coffee maker, so I had to call down to get some. But overall things were clean and comfortable. The lobby is beautiful, and the view from our window was spectacular. Short walk or ride to many fine Toronto neighborhoods.

Not perfect - but good enough

Okay, so this hotel is not brand new. If it was, it would be more elegant - but it would be smaller. The rooms would be smaller, the pool would be smaller, and the location might not be as central. So, we were happy with our nicely updated, spacious room with the fantastic view. The staff was helpful and available (except concierge-empty desk) and the price was fantastic. Survived without valet parking (the car entrance is right off the front entry) One less person to tip!

Convenient and pleasant

The hotel is extremely accessible from the airport, we hired a car and the road system in Toronto made finding the hotel easy, The parking is not free but cheap. The hotel is central to almost every thing in down town Toronto. Rooms are large and comfortable. My only 2 complaints were no fridge in the room and paying for the Internet. The staff were pleasant and keen to assist. We visited some of the in-house restaurants and the steaks were incredible. A good place to stay for business or vacation

Traveler's tip on shopping

There are many shopping malls within 8 minutes walking from the hotel, the Eaton centerer, the Bay etc and many were giving great discounts over and above their sale price. In the Bay ask about their visitors discount, have your driving license with a photo or passport with you and you will get 15% extra of the price of most goods, this does not apply to all goods in the store but still well worth asking for.

Nice hotel, unhelpful staff

The Hilton is comfortable and well maintained. However, from the minute I arrived I found the staff to be unfriendly and not eager to help. The attitude I picked-up was "you are imposing on me". From the front door to the front desk, no one made an effort to do more than I specifically asked from them. I am typically not a demanding guest, but this was ridiculous. I was very dissappointed. I have gotten better, more friendly service from roadside motels. When I arrived, I expected valet parking. I was informed, in a curt manner as if I should already have known, that self-parking was all that was available. The parking is awful. A low ceiling, dim, confusing underground garage with tiny parking spaces for $24 per day. I love Toronto and had a great time, but I would not stay here again.

Awesome stay at the Toronto Hilton

What a great experience. The hotel was very clean, the staff extremely helpful. We had one bad experience the first night with some noisy concert people staying on our floor but the staff was quick to resolve the situation.

So much to see and do. The hotel had some great brochures including a tour to Niagra which we participated in. The bus picked us up right in front of the hotel.

Couldn’t have been nicer!

Entire staff was very hospitable. Volunteered to help us find garage for flat tire we had encountered on our way there. Offered help with computer use & parking within the hotel with our tire problem. We couldn’t ask for nicer people in such a large city. Thanks!

Gracious Luxury

Gracious & very helpful staff, luxurious space, & prime location make this hotel a great vacation option. We only suggest updating & expanding the bathroom.

love this hotel

this hotel was beyond my expectations, the pictures of this hotel are accurate (you cant always trust the pictures!) and it was comfortable- the bed was great, the rooms were clean, it was modern, and very nice. the pool is very nice, the concierge was very helpful being that we had never been to toronto. its the perfect spot to stay in the city you are walking distance to queen street and china town and taxis are always there. it was right in downtown and i couldnt have been happier. i would recommend for anyone visiting this city to stay here it was perfect.

great downtown location

We really did not use the facilities for anything but a place to refresh and sleep. I was a little disappointed with stained carpet and small TV. The supply of towels, etc. was minimal. Very friendly & helpful staff. No valet parking.

Toronto Visit - great hotel location!

After reading many reviews on various travel sites, we decided to take advantage of an Expedia special rate for the Toronto Hilton. It was an excellent decision and the experience was outstanding! The location in the financial district is recommended for business travelers, but as vacationers we found it to be ideal as well. The proximity to public transportation was ideal for going anywhere on our list and we were able to walk to many places. The hotel was very clean and service was excellent. Even the giftshop hours were surprisingly late so we could grab soft drinks & snacks for the room after a long day of sightseeing. I highly recommend the Toronto Hilton for all travelers, regardless of your objectives.

The hotel has a Ruth’s Chris steak house on the lower level so you don’t even have to leave the hotel for a celebratory dinner! Also, there is Tim Horton’s 2 blocks away for good/fast breakfasts.

Sloppy housekeeping

We stayed four nights. During that whole time there was no vacuum sweeping on our floor. Little pieces of paper were seen on the floor and they stayed there the whole time. A phone book to be delivered to a room was in the hallway, outside that room the whole time. One day we had no bath towels and had to shower to make an appointment. We called downstairs and it took about an hour for the towels to arrive. The internet access was too high-priced. Otherwise, we had a fine stay.

Toronto is a wonderful city. So clean even though the city workers were on strike. Provisions were made for the garbage problem so it didn’t seem too messy

Excellent for the most part

The hotel staff was very friendly and prompt. The room was extremely comfortable. I loved the bed. When I get a new matress, I will buy same type that had at the hotel. I had one issue with the room. It was next door to the elevator, which was quite noisy. Other than that it was perfect.

Not impressed

This hotel was located close to the subway, but the numerous problems that we encountered daily with having no towels and having to call down daily to have them sent up,was uncalled for the amount of money that I put out to stay in this hotel. We were given a fre breakfast voucher to use, and their full breakfast wan’t up to par either, the food was extremely cold and the waffles were hard as a rock. Another downfall for this type of hotel

The staff was very friendly and responsive. The hotel was very clean and the maids didn’t disturb even though I didn’t put the sign up. Excellent overall experience.

this hotel benefits from a great location to visit and shop in Toronto. Rooms are nicely renovated and lounge is very pleasant. Staff was friendly and helped us make the best of our stay. soundproofing is a bit of a problem (we were in a room with 2 communicating doors to next rooms) if you are looking for "silence". great indoor/outdoor pool with patio.

It was a nice hotel for the price.

Hotel was very nice,and also clean. We had a little trouble regulating the heat it was stuffy in our room with the heat shut off. We were very pleased with everything throughout our visit. We would recommend staying here it was a great hotel for the price.

This hotel was very close to downtown and most of the attractions in Toronto. We went and seen a show and it was fantastic.

Good But Not Great

The Hilton Hotel in Toronto is definately one of the better hotels in town, however, as fabulous as it is, it’s starting to show it’s age. Overall the hotel decor and rooms are in very good condition, unfortunately scuff marks and dust are a real turn off for me. The bed itself was AMAZING, very comfortable. One of our bedside light was burnt out and there were some paint drips in the shower...but nothing major. The location is great, although there is nothing directly around. You need to walk a couple of blocks in every dirction if you want a coffee shop or convenience store. Net Net I would stay there again.

Great Value

Wife and I went for a concert at Air Canada Centre and stayed over night. Was 10-15 minute walk to ACC. Convenient to financial district, theater district and shopping. Parking garage adjoins the hotel. $20 extra per day for parking.

Recently renovated, beautiful and clean hotel. Service was great.

Can’t wait to go back.
