Set back above the beach at Shanklin is the Melbourne Ardenlea Hotel, next to the beautiful wooded 'Chine' Valley and thatched old village. Inside the hotel you will find a warm friendly atmosphere of a well-run family hotel. The beach below consists of areas of soft sand and flint pebbles backed by scenic cliffs which are accessed by wooded walkways and a cliff lift. The Restaurant serves quality food in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. The very reasonably priced menu changes every day and the homemade desserts are irresistible. Special dietary requirements can be catered for if requested in advance.

Hotel in Isle of Wight
On expedia site the hotel was listed as a three star hotel but in reality it was a two star hotel. Swimming pool area was bad. Sauna, jakuzi nothing was working. Room and breakfast were good.
