Draconian spirit
1 No elevator, be prepared to carry your own luggage to your room. Staff were not welcoming on arrival. 2 The hotel still uses old world skeleton keys for its rooms & requests that you leave the keys at the front desk every time you leave the premises. 3 The sign on the entry door isn’t the same as the the giant tag (on the key). -On the entry door it said "if youre out between 12 midnight and 6am ask for a night key." Later (our last day) this sign was changed without listing times. -Key tag said "if you’ll be out later than 11pm ask for the night key." If you have no idea when you’ll be back this system doesn’t work; and owner will be sarcastic (and thereafter all things from Digital TV feed through to internet access are "unintentionally" turned off) 4 Toilet didn’t flush correctly and the toilet paper was stuck there at all times. 5 Floor boards and doors creeked. 6 Party occurred Saturday until 12 midnight on our second night. So if you dont have the night keys you are subjected to a lot of noise. 7 Security system involves a cctv system, which is very easy to bypass. I suspect the creeky floorboards are the late warning system! (?) 8 Not a true CON but worth saying if hotel style is important: Internal decor has much to be desired; it comprises "Bay City Rollers" styling coupled with inappropriate color co-ordination. Not the best of experiences. The owner is oblivious to the term "customer service", holidays here would be taxing at best.
