Really great stay!

Is great, the staff was great, the hotel wsas really convenient, really close to the metro station just a couple mins walk I would definetly go back and degfinetly recommend the hotel. The only thing I did not like was the hotel decoration which was way over the top for me.

Excellent place to stay!

I was visiting Boston with my husband and 2 teenage daughters and just loved the hotel. It was decorated beautifully and tastefully. I was more adult oriented and wished there was a lounge area for them, when it was "wine-tasting" hour. The room was immaculate and beds were very comfortable. I would definitely visit again. I also love that you can bring your pet! I never heard a dog bark and I saw a few in the lobby- which was great!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Parking is not so easy in the area, but there is parking garages. Lot of places to eat, the mall is right there and very nice.

Wow, what a nice stay!

The Marlowe was amazing. We traveled from Italy w/ our 7 yo daughter. Reception staff at their best, always friendly and useful (they booked restaurants for us). From our room (front river) we had the opportunity to see the fabulous sunrise on boston bridges. The room was big and also the bed was very comfortable (the 3 of us slept there). The Science Museum (Metro) is very close. Complimentary coffee and tea in the morning is available in a superbe hall.

Book here! Stay here! Enjoy!

Nice hotel, too far from Harvard though

Great value, nice hotel, very attentive staff/concierge, clean, comfortable. A little far from Harvard which is where we were headed. Taxi ride was nearly $20 to and from Harvard Square.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Galeria mall is right next door! Can access it through garage actually.

Excellent service

After having a mediocre service experience at The Alexis(another Kimpton hotel in Seattle) last week, the Hotel Marlowe redeemed the boutique chain for me. Service was great and the location was ideal for my work.

Very nice

This is a cool, funky hotel with very good service. When I checked in with my 3 kids, we were offered a goldfish for the room--this is a new one! Later in the afternoon, a fishbowl appeared in our room with a little note saying "Hi, my name is Juan..." and telling about how housekeeping would feed him and why he was named Juan. My kids were enchanted. I, personally, enjoyed the wine reception in the funky "living room" downstairs. Very nice place.

Beautiful and friendly

I brought my girlfriend out for a night in Boston for her birthday and we stayed at Hotel Marlowe. While we may not have fit in with the very wealthy crowd that seems to frequent the hotel the staff still treated us great and we had a very nice time. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay

Fun Place to Stay

The room was plenty comfortable, though the decorating was a little over the top for me. It had great service, though, valet parking, comfortable beds, a nice mini bar, and they even provided aveda bathroom products!

Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge

Excellent Hotel. The room was well appointed, very stylish and had a great view. Nice king size bed. Beautiful hotel overall, and the complimentary kayaks and bicycles added a nice touch. The hotel is very close to the train/trolley, which saved us the trouble of driving into downtown Boston and parking in those garages. Staying at the Marlowe, you are never too far from the action of Boston, but are away from downtown at the same time. I highly recommend it, great for couples.

Traveler's tip on dining

Don’t waste your time or money on the in-hotel restaurant, Bambara. Food is expensive but not really good.

Excellent hotel

This is a beautiful hotel, very comfortable and nice decor in the room. I arrived a bit early but was accommodated instantly, front desk staff were always helpful during my stay. The proximity of the shopping galleria is a plus, especially since the subway stop is not very close by (a 10-15 minute walk, depending on how fast you walk). Overall very nice experience, would warmly recommend this hotel.

very nice

proximity of parking garage to hotel ideal. Even if there were glitches with the Parking swipe card. Even though pets are welcome, they were not obvious, unless you wanted to pet them. No pet odors or messes were ever noticed. Non-alcoholic drinks shuld be offered with the afternoon wines, if not for children, then for non-imbibing adults

Traveler's tip on local attractions

try the trolley tour operator located outside the mall by the Cheesecake Factory, not the one sold by the hotel. It was Upper Deck Trolley Tours. offering a Boston & Cambridge loop (valid for 2 days), and a cruise of the Boston Harbor OR Charles River, for $34. for adults, $30. for seniors, and $16. for children in July 2009

Fabulous Hotel. Most Impressed

Stayed at the Marlowe for 4 nights. Beautiful location in Cambridge, right across the Charles. Complimentary Sangria in the evenings and tea in the mornings (good tea). Nice surrounding area. There’s a really cool Afghani restaurant I highly recommend if you’re looking to stay away from the norm (Cheesecake factory and PF Changs). Lechemere (Green line) train station is a pleasant 5min walk away. You’ll slip into downtown Boston or Harvard square within minutes of your hotel. Boston is a sensible city that way. The hotel did accidentally charge my credit card for a mini bar item, but refunded me. The free rental bicycles are a little scary as they’re pretty old. Still you get a free bike rental.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Afghani restaurant If you make it on a Fri/Sat evening check out the haymarket (near QUincy) good fun, also worth looking at some of the halal meat shops, Harvard Square is cool. Bartleys is well worth eating at. They have really nice burgers, Good Will Hunting was shot in this area. Good tea shops in this area. MIT is really worth checking out too. Bunker Hill monument is ok Didn’t care for Quincy Market (place is looming with tourists) and bad entertainment on the streets.

Very comfortable

Got a great deal on a room with a King-sized bed. Great location...on the other side of the road from the Charles river, a block away from the Green Line, and there’s a Galleria mall next door. Highly recommended.

Wow

You never really know what to expect but wow! The decor was such a shock-it was truly unique and whimsical, not in a cheesy way but sophisticated. The bedding rivals the heavenly bed at Westin. The cleanliness was more than just skin deep. We will return on our next Boston trip. The doorman was a true ambassador for the hotel and Boston.

Excellent hotel

I have to say that the hotel is one of the best we have stayed at--the staff was very attentive to our questions and needs--very friendly. The room was very clean and most comfortable. I would stay here again!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Hotel is located near The Galleria and The Charles River. We were able to walk to Charlestown to visit the tall ships. Also, we walked to MIT.

Staying at the Hotel Marlowe was the best hotel experience I have ever had!

The rooms were clean, plush, and full of rich colors. I also loved the leopard print robes and the Aveda products. Everyone I met or saw who worked at the hotel was always eager to help or just offer a bright smile in passing in the hall. I especially appreciated Keith, the concierge who was so helpful in suggesting local restaurants, things to see (the tall ships, for ex.) and the easiest way to get there. Our first morning we hopped on bikes provided by the hotel and pedaled along the Charles River to Harvard Square for breakfast. There was such a sense of fun and engagement in the Hotel Marlowe. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Best Small Hotel in Cambridge

We stay at the Marlowe whenever we stay in Boston. It is convenient to the "T" (so you do not need your car), has none of the bustle of staying right in Boston (so is very quiet and more relaxing), the staff is friendly, has free wine every afternoon (how could you not like that). In other words just about perfect!

What a great hotel

I loved staying at this hotel. It was all it was advertised to be and more. The staff was not only very helpful, but eager to be of any service they could. I used a mountain bike to commute to MIT and they were very generous about the return time. I asked for help with maps and directions and the staff directed me eagerly. I arrived hours early and they got me into my room right away. This was a great experience overall.

Nice attached mall - with a lot of food options.
