hotel marconi
stayed in hotel marconi 10/1/09 - 10/3/09 dont expect much from the room... its very plain.... pluses: location is great.... breakfast was good..... helpful staff who spoke english... bell boy got our luggage to the 3rd floor and we didnt even ask for it. it was not noisy as other guests were saying but then again it was off season already.

Great Location, Old Hotel
Great Location right next to the Rialto Bridge, but like everything in Venice its old and overpriced.

Hotel has great location but needs updating
The Marconi is located on the Grand Canal very near the Rialto Bridge so it is easy to find from anywhere in Venice. It is a small hotel built in 1932 and it does need updating. Our room was a good size but had only one window that looked out on an alley which made the room quite dark. The bathroom was small but had been updated. There is no lift, bar or business center. Breakfast was included and was very adequate. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Traveler's tip for business travelers
We were glad to have read the tip from another traveler on Murano Glass. We made sure to tell the staff there about his experience with his art purchase. Venice is very expensive - we avoided the shops and cafes around San Marco due to the high prices. However, go there in the evening when you can stand and listen to the bands play some lovely music - classical and show tunes.
