Good value in sleepy but convenient location

This hotel was a great value considering the prices of other hotels in Tokyo and had great views and comfortable, if a tad small, rooms. The location is amidst a newly built office district, and if you are there on the weekend, it feels a bit like a ghost town. However, Shiodome and Shinbashi station are right next to you and Ginza is just a 10-15 minute walk away, as is the Tsukiji fish market (which I have to say is the real treat as everyone wants to go back to bed after waking up at 4:45am to see the fish). Shinjuku and Shibuya are only a subway ride away, but if you are in Tokyo to party then prob stay in one of those locations and not here. Finally, the concierge had serious attitude and was frankly not helpful. After I asked her for restaurant recommendations in about four different ways, I was told that the type of meal I was seeking was probably too expensive for me and was offered no recommendation. I was frankly appalled, and cannot praise the service here, even though overall it was fine.

beautiful view of the tokyo tower

the hotel was very conveniently located, close walking distance to the fish market. by accident, i paid an extra day on expedia, not realizing the time difference, so that was a bummer to pay for an extra day when i was leaving for the airport.

Traveler's tip

it was odd that men were behind the desks and bellman was actually a bell woman and I had to ask my boyfriend help her with the luggage. not cool with that. but overall, very friendly, but doesn’t bend rules like america.

Awesome View. Close to 2 train stations.

Awesome View. Close to 2 train stations (didn’t have to cross streets). There’s a building about a block away (other side of the Shimbashi station) with a ton of restaurants. ATM nearby.

Beautiful hotel and convenient location

This hotel BEGINS on the building’s 25th floor, so whichever room you get you’ll have a heck of a view. Either Hama Detached Garden and Tokyo Bay on one side, the NTV building and Shimbashi Station on another, or Tokyo Tower on the last. Shiodome Station is basically below this hotel. The Oedo, JR, and Yurikamome (to get to Odaiba) lines are easily to catch from here. Shimbashi Station is only a few minutes away by foot where you can grab other subway lines. Tsukiji, Hama Detached Garden, and Ginza are also easily accessible by foot for those accustomed to walking. The double room we stayed in had enough room to not feel cramped up and included lots of amenities. Wired internet (short wire, though), high-end bath goods, bath salts, plastic hair brush, razor w/ shave cream, wash cloth, vanity kit w/ nail file, toothbrushes w/ paste, etc. Coffee, tea, and a hot water pot are all provided (no extra charge). The refrigerator comes stocked w/ water, juice, beer, champagne, and some fizzy drinks. We just moved some items out of the fridge to make space for our own things. For those who like to unpack, the room includes a long desk/vanity/dresser table with two small drawers and three larger ones. The closet includes enough hangers to double hang the clothing that doesn’t fit in the dresser. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. English is spoken very well which is helpful for travelers with very limited to no Japanese.

Swanky Hotel + Great location

Excellent Service, Good Views of Tokyo from the upper floors and very convenient for the 2 nights that we stayed.

Traveler's tip on dining

Walk to Tsukiji and have sushi in the morning. Don’t follow the guidebooks to Sushi Dai, Sushi Sei or Sushi Daiwa. Find Isonoya - also around the outer mall area. No tourists, no lines and you can see the chef/owner is truly passionate about what he does.

Comfort in Tokyo

Very good service and value for money. Location is convenient as it is located near good transport links and within walking distance to Tsjuki market. Howver, is sterile as it is within the shiodome office complex. Still, would highly recommend for superior views, small but very comfortable rooms, and very good service. Visit family mart in the lower level for snacks, drinks, a muji outlet, and tickets to attractions.

Convenient location

The room was fairly small (the bathroom more so) - although it was recommended as spacious by Tokyo standards. The location was excellent, however - a short walk to the Shinbashi station and near the fish market and right at Shiodome with lots of restaurants. Hotel staff was helpful and there was free internet.

exceeded my expectations!

this was my second time in tokyo, and our room at the park hotel really exceeded my expectations! we had a fabulous view from our window on the 26th floor, the room and hotel were nicely and modernly furnished (reminded me of a W hotel), and it was of a pretty good size (particularly the bathroom!) for japanese standards! accessibility was great as well being right above a subway station and walking distance to a JR station.

Park Hotel Tokyo

Slightly difficult to access- Shiodome underground area confusing to first time arrivals. Rooms on the small side, compensated for by great views. Expensive In-house Dining/Drinking. Outstanding Concierge service/assistance.

Traveler's tip

Good for the fish markets. Great Dining options nearby (underground).

Great Service, trendy hotel, decent rooms

I would stay here again. The service was excellent, and all staff spoke English which was very helpful. Free internet access to guests in their business center. The hotel lounge was very classy and modern, with great views of Tokyo Tower and Mt. Fuji. The rooms were clean, but small (by American standards). The location is in the business district in Central Tokyo, closest to Ginza shopping. Try to walk to Ginza...it’s pretty close. Try to use the train station that you can access on the lowest level of the hotel building and take it west to check out Western Tokyo...walk around and just get lost!

Traveler's tip on shopping

Take the train to the Omote-sando stop and just walk around all over. And don’t forget to check out the alleys between buildings...there are boutique shops EVERYWHERE and hidden around corners, etc. If it’s your first time in Tokyo, get off at the Shibuya stop and witness the mass of people crossing the street intersection. Then walk the alleys and stray from the mass of people to find more unique boutique stores.

Worth every penny!

After hopping from Kyoto and Sapporo, we decided to splurge on a higher-end hotel and ended at the Park Hotel. Shiodome is a great location for food, close proximity to Ginza and the subway to the rest of Tokyo. The rooms were clean, the amenities are well equipped. I brought a gift for a friend that needed to be boxed up, and the Concierge helped me without hesitation. Basically, for the same price hotel in the US, you’ll be getting a much better deal at the Park Hotel. I can’t wait to go back!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Take a short walk and step into traditional Japan at the Hama Rikyu Garden (you can see it from the hotel room!). There’s a tea garden which was popular with tourists. We took the water taxi to Akasuka. It was fun taking photos of the different bridges we crossed under. We also walked to Tsukiji fish market from the hotel and ate sushi there. Our meal there officially turned us into sushi snobs. Nothing at home has come close to our meal at Tsukiji.

Outstanding Value for Priced

We loved the Park Hotel Tokyo. Although by objective standards our standard room was somewhat small, it was so beautifully arranged and decorated and with a queen sized bed, chair, small table and ottoman and a knockout wall-sized window view of the Tokyo skyline, we did not feel cramped at all and were not even certain that we had a standard room and not a small deluxe (it was standard--we checked). Amenities included robes, really nice toiletries, newspaper, a coffee maker, teamaker and minibar tastfully tucked away in an alcove. There was an office sized but attractive work desk, nice artwork, a good western and Japanese breakfast, a moderately priced OK Japanese restaurant and a tiny expensive but very good French restaurant. Service was very pleasant, efficient and knowledgable, we were given a 1pm checkout andd for all this for a three star hotel price. As you can see, we cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Try it!

Great service, attractive hotel

My husband and I arrived at the hotel in the early evening after a very long flight. Check-in was blessedly quick and the service was great. Since this was a special occasion (our 10th wedding anniversary), I had requested a room on a high floor with a nice view of the city, and that’s exactly what we got! They also surprised us with a complimentary bottle of champagne to celebrate. The room was exceptionally clean, very quiet, and not as small as we had feared. It had one queen-sized bed and there was enough room for living out of two open suitcases (one on a luggage rack, the other beside a chair). The bathroom counter was large enough to have both our toiletry bags open and still have extra space available. Great water pressure in the shower, too. The only drawback to the hotel is the location. It’s not terrible, but it is in a business district which basically shuts down at night. If you just want to stroll around there’s nothing much to see. The central Ginza area is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel and the only subway line really close by is the Oedo Line. On the bright side, there is a nice mix of restaurants in some of the other buildings nearby ranging from very upscale to simple cafes, everything from traditional Japanese fare to Gordon Ramsey, Mexican, Bulgarian, etc. There are also some useful amenities (like a Post Office if you need an international ATM) nearby at the Shiodome Center.

Great Hotel and Great Location

If you’re traveling to Tokyo for any reason, I highly recommend this hotel. Not only are the rooms great (including heated toilets), but the access to the Tokyo subway made our stay much easier. You just take an elevator down to the subway access, where you connect up with one line or walk a little farther to connect up with a few more. From there we were able to travel all over the city.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Pick up beer, wine and snacks at the Family Store at the subway level.
