flight of four steps to climb but nice room when u got there!
the accomadations were fine for the price. our room involved a climb of four flights of stairs which would not be good for everone. staff very friendly and room clean.

up and down!
The hotel itself is beautiful and the courtyard made for wonderful breakfast and late night relaxation. Our room was a great size and comfortable. It was on the fourth floor though and, with no elevator and no bell boy, we certainly got a work out several times a day. The receptionists were friendly, but not too knowledgeable of the city. I have been to NO several times and could find things easier than they could. The location was great though! Close enough to everything, but not so close that things got loud. There is also a great coffee shop across the street and market a few blocks down. Our room came with a refrigerator so we could store late night snacks and such. If youre not looking for something too fancy, this is a great place!
Traveler's tip on dining
Definitely go to Bennechin, a local African restaurant down Royal Street.

Great location but could be better
It is a lovely traditional building, built around a courtyard and from first appearances the rooms look great too. Crisp white bed linens, lovely dark furniture. But the bathrooms are very tired, the air conditioning gurgled and made odd noises all night, and many finishing touches were missing. The staff were very friendly and helpful but there are no extra services such as a restaurant or room service. It is in a great location one block from Bourbon Street, near great restaurants, shopping and not far from Jackson Square.
