Nice little hotel in Rome
We arrived early in Rome and were at the hotel at 8 am. The desk clerk was very nice and got a room ready for us in about an hour. He also offered us complimentary coffee and breakfast while we waited. The hotel is in a very nice area right on the river and some great sites are in walking distance.

Charming hotel
This hotel is very clean, nicely decorated, and well maintained. The room was more spacious than many European rooms and had a balcony. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate and kept us going until supper time. The location wasnt too far from the metro, which was good since its a bit out of the way. The waiter in the restaurant was extremely friendly and the food was delicious. However, dont ask the desk clerk for ice if its past nine p.m. He got a bit surly so apparently this is just not done.

What a gem!
I was so surprised that this hotel was as great as it was - primarily because it was so cheap - compared to others! I am picky on hotels and Donna Laura Palace was great! We could park our car on site. We walked to the Vatican, although the Metro was a block away. They had a huge breakfast buffet included in the room price. The only slightly negative aspect was a surley reception attendent...but we found it amuzing. The bellman was better than I had ever seen. Full of information and service. He was older and just a delight to 3 older women :). I will definitely use them the next time I hit Rome!
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
If you are older or dont enjoy walking...take a taxi cab....they were not that expensive. Just have a hotel card with you and although the driver may not be familiar with this small hotel, they will know the large street that it is on...there is a huge river right next to it.
