Great value, awesome location

The best deal, right in the heart of South Beach. Steps away from Lincoln Road, the ocean and SoBe’s trendiest spots, Aqua is a great low-price option. Helpful staff, clean basic accommodation, free breakfast and internet, a full sized in room fridge, great patio and rooftop make this a hotel I come back to time and time again.

I called it the room of gloom...

I don’t know how any one could rave about this place. First, concrete floors? That doesn’t really exude warmth during a vacation to me. The concrete isn’t painted; in my room it was a dull gray, in addition to being cracked and chipped. Most of the rooms face a courtyard so if someone is outside talking you will likely hear it. Think about that on a late Saturday night, when you want to go to sleep and a couple of clubgoers come back and have a smoke in the courtyard at 3 am. If you don’t mind noise, then it shouldn’t be a problem, but if you sleep anything less than dead soundly this will likely be an issue. My bed was moveable, and not stable to the floor. It makes a huge difference in terms of comfort for me and may for you as well, especially if you’re doing something besides sleeping. If you’re a teenager and get a cheap rate and just want to stay out all night, I’d still suggest you hit a hostel instead because there’ll be a much better social scene. If you’re an adult who expects some amenities, there’s absolutely not a single reason to go to the Aqua Hotel. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and suggest the owners do some major renovation because there just doesn’t seem to be a good market for this hotel.

Wnt go back

We had a not so fun stay stay at Hotel Aqua. There was only one staff that was helpful the whole time. The others were just plain rude. When I had got the keys to the room I asked for a rollaway bed the second night there. They said no problem, but I went back to the desk that day, staff said that they didnt do them at all. I went back the next day to ask a different staff member and he got me one straight away. The first morning we were woken up at 7.30am by construction workers at the back throwing things of the roof. This didnt stop all morning. We were on vacation in Miami we had barely just gone to bed and not what we wanted to hear. The worst part of the stay was when the hotel air conditioning went out. Its a must to have in Miami when its in the 90’s. We complained in the afternoon, no fans were offered or anything. We were the lucky ones I coincidentally complained when the owner was present and he gave us half of the room. Though when I went to settle up the next day the staff member was only offering me what we had spent at the mini bar (which was nothing) and I had to inform him that was not what I was told. He moved my friends who were staying longer to a room that had the air conditioning working though you barely could feel it. To top it of there was the biggest cockroaches running around. The only good thing about this place is location but there are plenty of other places in the area to stay.
