Wonderful Small Hotel

This was a wonderful, small hotel to stay in during our visit to Prague. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well furnished. We also ate in the hotel restaurant a couple of times and the food was delicious! The pricing was not bad either. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Impressive

Excellent in all areas with the exception of not having the breakfast included in the price. If you figure another 15 euros each for the breakfast, the value was not that outstanding.

Be willing to go elsewhere for an affordable breakfast.

Best Hotel in Prague

I’ve been on a couple of Hotels in Prague before, and with no doubt this Hotel by far is the best on the city. the service is excellent, people always willing to satisfy every single need, helping on everything, great view and location, awesome food on the Restaurant, actually with a Michelin prize 2009, is not expensive and beautiful on everything inside.

the BEST hotel!

We stayed at the Riverside for our honeymoon and it was fantastic. First of all beyond the beauty of the hotel and it’s rooms, the staff is the nicest service staff I have ever met. The staff is always willing to help and by the end of your trip, you feel like you have made new friends. We took the hotel car to and from the airport which I highly recommend. It is about very reasonable each way, sometimes cheaper than a cab, and much nicer. Our Junior Suite had a huge balcony, 2 bathrooms, and a direct view of Prague Castle. There was only one downer - you need to call fro an iron in the room everytime you need one. . . .we got over it. Also, there is no coffee pot in the room, but the bar will deliver your coffee to the room (even if you don’t fill out the breakfast form and put it on the door.) I would also trust any recommendations the hotel makes for you. We had the most romantic dinner at a trdaitional Czech restaurant per their recommendation. You do have to walk a bit to get to the main attractions, but that just adds the greatness - you end up seeing more, have fantastic views from your room, and its quiet. But at the end of the week, if your feet are sore, don’t forget there is always the tram or a cab! I would highly recommend this hotel - worth every penny!

Great hotel. Good location even though not in the heart of Prague.

Service was great, everyone was very helpful.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

There is a metro stop 4 blocks from the hotel which makes it very convenient to get around in the city. System is easy to understand even though english language signs are non-existent.

Very good hotel

It is really a good hotel, value for money and it also has a good location. Especially if you go there by car and you do not want to be located in the middle of tourist area.

Lived up to the high rating!

This hotel was wonderful...we stayed for 7 nights and everything was beautiful. The room was very quiet as far as noise from outside. The bedding was top quality and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was spotless. We arrived at the hotel about 7 hours before check in time (they had received an email requesting an "early" check in with no time frame given)and the staff was extremely gracious in getting us into the room as quickly as possible (with no additional charge!). If there is any complaint, it would be that the TV is set up in the middle of the room so the desk is behind it. One person can’t lie in the bed while the other person sits in the chair to watch. A minor complaint...we did not go to Prague to watch TV! The location of the hotel is great, we were able to walk every where to all the sites. We were there to visit our daughter studying in Prague and she was able to walk back and forth between the hotel and the school. The subway and trolley lines that we took were all within a few blocks of the hotel. This hotel has old world charm, beautiful room appointments, and the staff was wonderful! All in all this hotel certainly deserves the superior rating that is on the Expedia website!

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

After paying nearly $20.00 pp for breakfast! at the cafe located at the hotel, we found a grocery store, bought milk (which we kept in the mini fridge) and cereal and asked for bowls and spoons from the hotel. This was a lot cheaper and we felt better eating a "regular" breakfast (for us) then the more heavy fare that was available at the hotel and in Prague in general. (I would say don’t go to Prague for the food!)

Friendly helpful staff

We like the hotel a lot A little crowded in bedroom -hard to get into the closet nice bathroom Breakfast a little pricey and it’s hard to find a breakfast place in the neighborhood. We loved the location- not in the middle of things but a comfortable walk to most places and pretty easy to pick up a tram too.

Impressive! We will be back again.

This is a beutiful hotel with a superb view of the river and the city with a discrete but impeccable staff. Our junior suite was spacious and elegant and we were very pleased to have two bathrooms with shower and jacuzzi. Overall the cost/quality was outstanding.

Beautiful City and Super Location.

This hotel was next to the river and a 15 minute walk to Charles Bridge and 25 to 30 minutes to cross the bridge and go into Old Town or up to Prague Castle Complex. Dancing House was directly across the river. The hotel more than met my expectations, staff was friendly and informative. I will stay at the MaMaison Riverside for all my future visits.

A wonderful hotel

A great find! The location was the only drawback, but for the quality and price, it was worth a few extra steps. I would definitely stay there again.

Great stay

We loved the hotel and the staff was more than welcoming. The distance to and from the main attractions was manageable. The only issue we had during our stay was that our neighbors felt there was no problem smoking to excess in the hallway after midnight. The smoke did permeate through the walls and doors.

Not impressed. Though, paid price was reasonable.

No swimming pool actually means this hotel is NOT 5*. Restaurant is underground. No windows in the room. Restaurant (for breakfast) is very small.

Wonderful hotel at a great price

I’d definitely recommend the MaMaison Riverside to anyone wishing to visit Prague and not stay in the center of the city. It’s conveniently located close to the metro/subway and tram connections unpon arrival at the airport. The center of the city is a 20 minute walk over and along the river. The room was immaculate, well laid out, and extremely comfortable for my 2 night stay. The wireless internet was extremely slow, but I was there for the sites, not surfing the net. I don’t have one complaint about the hotel or the hotel staff. Definitely would recommend you consider this hotel if you prefer a more quite location.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Definitely visit Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, the Astronomical Clock, and the Old City Center. Everything is within 15 - 20 minutes walking distance of each other. I took in a Black Light Theatre show and it was amazing. Enjoy!

This mama loves the MaMaison

We enjoyed our stay so much we decided to stay another day. We stayed in the family "suite" which is really two separate hotel rooms that adjoin. One is a JR Suite with King bed that has a balcony overlooking the Vlatva river and the other, also a king bed, with a window similar view. I am the mother of a 17 month old boy so we require room to run around :) He had a great time and would you believe, No injuries!! If I was going to have a complaint it would be the bathroom doors as stated in a review below. They are glass french doors (about 18 inches a piece) with misted white tinting. My opinion is that though they work beautifully with the room, I require a little more privacy when spending a weekend in a hotel. The staff was VERY helpful and SO friendly! I’ve stayed in hotels that weren’t very accommodating for children. The infant/toddler bed was set up when we entered the room complete with a kids welcome pack with toiletries. Such a nice touch! The train underground station (trains) is just a couple blocks away and the transit system is very easy to use. 5 bucks will buy you a transit pass for 24 hours. You can ride the underground and the trolly system. This will take you EVERYWHERE! With this hotel you save a bundle as it isn’t right in the main tourist parts of town (though I prefer the central location this hotel offers). We couldn’t have been happier with our stay here. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Excellent for romance and great value for your pay

Hotel hospitality is remarkable and worth choosing this hotel . When we arrived the hotel manager asked us to sit , relax and feel comfortable. Then he brief on Prague, main attractions, mark on the map useful tram lines (tickets are available at the hotel charged to your room account). Then the said that they have prepared us a beautiful room in the forth floor. Room was cozy and comfortable with a great view to the river. Although breakfast is not included ( a fact that can save 20 EUR a day for a buffet no one needs) we could get a nice breakfast nearby per hotel’s recommendation.

Great Hotel away from the crowds -- just be prepared for a glass bathroom door!

Our stay in a family suite was excellent. The hotel reception staff gave good advice on check-in for restaurants nearby and also where the train stops etc were. All staff were friendly to us. The rooms were very clean, extremely comfortable .. but it was not easy having glass doors for the bathroom. I have two daughters and it was really not easy as they do not want anyone seeing them sitting on the toilet! Why does a hotel fit glass doors to the bathroom?? So, expensive but I felt worthwhile and compared to my last stay in Prague (centre) this gave a chance to walk 20 minutes and get some real excercise before reaching the main touristy things.

Avoid Wenceslas Square in the later evening unless you really do want to be followed for hundred’s of metres with guys trying to sell you lapdancing clubs etc. Prague needs to get it’s act together here.

Very good choice!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Riverside because the room was very cosy with brand new equipment and it had a very comfrotable bed, which was really useful after a day walking around Prague! I would return to Riverside if I went to Prague.

Would stay in the hotel again

I choose this hotel from reviews I read about it. I was very happy with the choice. Hotel is close to attractions, metro, and public transportation. Hotel staff will make reservation for you in restaurant of your choice. Only downside is that they do not have an internet room. Otherwise, I was very pleased. I have also received room with all request I had balcony, double sink, etc.
