Renaissance Grand

The only thing I would suggest is adding a mini-fridge to the room: There is ample space for such.

Forest Park is a "Must-do!"

Great Locaton - that’s about it

The location of the hotel was GREAT. We went to St. Louis to go to a Ram’s game and the stadium is literally around the corner from the hotel. It is also close to other attractions such as the Arch. The hotel has a number of different buildings and the building we staid in seemed old. The room was kind of dingy and compartmentalized. It was weird for a suite. It was not what we were expecting - I would not stay at that hotel again.

Make sure you get the breakfast

The hotel was much nicer than the Windham across the street that we stayed at last year. The breakfast buffet was sensational with cooked to order omelets and crepes. A little pricey but very good. The service was great. The hotel actually helped us out with a problem that developed during our stay.

great downtown location

If you are looking for a downtown location that you is within easy walking distance of Busch Stadium, the Arch, Lemuir Casino or Union Station, the Renaissance Grand is a great place to stay. I recommend getting the package that includes the breakfast buffet as it is well worth it and you get two for the price of one.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Don’t both with hotel valet parking as you have to give them at least one hour notice to get your car. Use the parking lot behind the hotel and you will get a discount.

Very clean and very fast customer service

This had to have been one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed in. The front desk customer service was very fast and friendly. Valet service was also great - very handy especially since the road out front was under construction.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

right next to Edwards Jones Dome (Rams Stadium) and within walking distance to Lacledes Landing and Busch Stadium (Cardinals Stadium)

Small room for the price

The staff at the hotel were great, very friendly. My only complaint would be that the room was small for the price I paid. Location was very good. Overall I am very satisfied with the hotel.

The most beautiful hotel!

This hotel was absolutley gorgeous! My daughter and I has a family reunion in St. Louis and arrived one day early to tour the area. I wanted her to experience staying in an piece of history. We were not disappointed! The room was large and the bathroom was huge. The bed was comfortable and the interior decorating was superb. I told everyone at the reunion about this hotel and they were not even aware of this jewel. The restaurant staff was attentive and our waitress was a beautiful Chrisitan woman. It was if we had known her for a long time. That’s how at "home" she made us feel. The front desk staff were also very attentive and professional. Thanks for the memories! We will stay again....

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Take the time to look up at the architecture around the hotel. Stunning!!

Great downtown location

The hotel was in a super location. It was within walking distance of many downtown attractions. The concierge desk was terrific at providing recommendations and directions to a variety of places around town. My only issue with the hotel was that housekeeping did not do a good job keeping our bathroom stocked. A phone call took care of the issue quickly though.

Overall was good

There was no refrigerator in the room although there was a provision for one. So I suggest if anyone would like to stay there do not assume, have you requirements confirmed early.

Great time in St. Louis!

Great hotel with great views of the city. Convenient to America Center and nearby activities that could be fit in to short jaunts around a busy conference. Very confortable bed and pillows and great service from the staff.

Wonderful Hotel

My husband and I were on a business trip and stayed here because it is right across the stree from the America’s Center where our conference was being held. We were amazed at the cleanliness of the hotel and also the treatment we received while staying there. We will use this hotel again and again!!

I will not stay there again.

I stayed at this hotel 4 years ago, and was quite happy. So this summer, I went back there only to find out that it is no longer a kind of place I would enjoy staying. The place was filled with loud convention people; the service at front desk and restaurant were slow and not professional; no mini-bar; plastic cups instead of glass; no attractive decor in hallways, etc. Breakfast was the worst experience ever!. There was a very long line, and the server was not taking names. If there was a party of 6 in the front of the line, they would let the entire customers in line wait, even though there are many empty tables for smaller groups. Parking was a disaster, as well. A valet told that we could self-park, so we went to the garage only to find out there were no spot left to park. So we turn around and was forced to valet-park at $27. Terrible Hotel.

Overbooked

The Hotel was great however it was overbooked when we arrived. They ran out of double beds and they upgraded us to a concierge suite. This had it’s pro’s and cons. The room was about three times bigger than a normal room however only had a murphy bed and a pull out couch. The room amenities had a Dining Room table and a kitchenette. It was great having the extra room especially when traveling with children, but the beds wern’t quite the most comfortable as you could expect sleeping on a sofa bed.

Great place, great workout room and pool

Our family of five really enjoyed the stay. Upon check in, we asked to upgrade to a bigger room that could accommodate a roll-away bed in addition to the two double beds. They found a room that had just been cleaned and put us up on the 19th floor. Room was clean, workout room had lots of treadmills.

Ask for a larger room that can accommodate a roll away bed.

2nd time around

We love the historic nature of the hotel. Our room was nicely appointed with comfortable sleeping. The room was well maintained by the cleaning staff. Only problem was concierge service was lacking. Twice we found the desk unmanned. Check-in staff redirected us to the nonexistent concierge. On the one occasion we found it manned, they really wanted us to dine at the hotel.

Traveler's tip on dining

Mosaic just down the street was a great place for tapas and wine. The fresh market in the Soulard district was interesting. We enjoyed the brewery tour as well. St. Louis is a wonderful town to discover hidden shops and restaurants.

In the Lap of Luxury

This hotel was great! The front desk screwed up our reservation but did more than make up for it! The staff was absolutley amazing and went above and beyond the call of duty. We felt as if we were truly pampered!!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The City Musuem - a great adventure! Study the map online or print it off ahead of time. There are no maps or signs anywhere once you are inside! If you have small children who are adventourous, you might want to bring knee pads!

thumbs up

had a nice stay, close to the metro link and the other attractions. when we checked in they didn’t have the bed reguest right, but by the time we finished dinner a desk clerk came to our table and gave us our room keys, nice work. the work out area and pool were very nice.

Traveler's tip on dining

calico’s sports bar was close and the best pizza ever. too bad they still allow smoking in doors, but the non smoking area wasn’t too bad.
