Traveler's tip on local attractions
Take a taxi to Sintra for 15 euros and spend the day in the area, have lunch at Cafe Paris and then take the bus up to the Pena Palace just for the views at the top. Avoid the tours from the hotels as they are 5 times the price and they will limit your freedom to explore.

This is the life!
A full weeks stay at this hotel was a luxury for us. Its a perfect location with tons of amenities--we lacked nothing while we were there! Impeccable service, updated modern rooms (especially the granite & marble bathrooms!) and good lighting--sometimes a problem in Portugal (usually very low wattage). Youll need a converter for any electrical appliances (shavers, curling irons), but a good hair dryer is provided. We were treated like royalty with all the amenities afforded to us (it didnt hurt that we ended up in a suite!). Even so, our friends room was just as spacious and comfortable. The beds were king-size and most comfortable. The furniture, decor, and window treaments are in excellent taste. The courteous personnel go the extra mile to speak English, and are willing to give you whatever you may need. We loved that it was just a short walk to the "esplanade" that meanders along the beachfront--and takes you to the beautiful little town of Cascais. There are many choices for restaurants close by. But you can feast on an all-you-can-possbily-eat breakfast buffet each day at the hotel, with various sumptuous options, or a simple continental -- your choice! There are lovely quiet spots in the hotel to just read or play games. We loved the convenience, the location, the service, and the overall style that was afforded to us while staying in this luxury hotel. Wed go back in a heartbeat!
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Hotel imbibing can add up quickly, so+ we really enjoyed the various outdoor cafes that dot the boardwalk. The food is exceptionally good at these local eateries, and the local people quite friendly. You will never be at a loss for a place to eat or drink here! The bread, cheeses, pates, and seafood were our favorites. You wont ever leave any establishment hungry!
