Good hotel. Well be back.
This hotel was ideally located for us, within easy walking distance to Laduree for wonderful pastries, coffee, hot chocolate and much more, the gardens, the Louvre, Rodin, etc. Desk staff speak English and are very helpful. New decor still keeps the charm but is clean, fresh and comfortable with air conditioning, bathroom with shower. With the window closed, its quiet at night even though were right in the city. Well be back.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Dont expect cab drivers to know where your hotel is located. Known main streets / landmarks and show driver a map. Laduree is a must: sit down and enjoy it Parisian style. Musee de lOrangeree in Jardin des Tuileries houses wonderful Monet murals! By contrast we enjoyed Musee National DArt Moderne.

Definitely would go back
I wanted to write a review because when I was trying to make a reservation, there were so many opinions and I had a very difficult time making a decision. This hotel is quite nice and we were very satisfied. The staff spoke great English, were very helpful and pleasant. I had booked 2 rooms for my family of 5. When I called to have the rooms adjoining, I was told this was not possible, but that I would be happy when I saw the rooms, she was right. The 2 rooms had individual doors as well as one shared private main door. We locked the main door and were quite comfortable. We booked one classic and one superior room. It was odd that the Superior room (more expensive) was slightly smaller than the classic room. Both bathrooms were modern and clean. We were on the 300 level. Yes you can hear the trains rumble in the dead of night and early morning but it didnt disturb us at all. The Madeline station is literally at the end of the block. So that provides easy access to all the Paris attractions. I am told you can walk but we took the train. The street is busy during the day, but the area dies down at night. While it is still safe, it is probably more suited to families, couples, in fact anyone not looking for a rowdy bar scene. We never ate the 19 Euro breakfast, since there is a pastry shop about a minutes walk and a Starbucks was also close by.
Lots of restaurants close by on Blvd des Italians. You could take the train about 2 stops or walk.

Great little hotel near everything...
Room was perfectly clean with amazing bath products. Small but to be expected in Paris. AC worked great and the bed was in good condition. Two minute walk to the Madeline metro station. Walking distance to the Louvre, Champs Elysees and Saint Honore shopping!! The service was very nice, but did not speak much english. However, we showed up early (our flight got in at 6:30 am on a Sunday) and they didnt have a room ready yet. So, they gave us a free breakfast which was not necessary. It was amazing.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Do not go see one of the "Caberet" shows... definite tourist trap. We spent 200 euros on bad dancing, limp sinking and mandatory champagne bottle purchase.
