Great Location
location, location, location. Universo Hotel is perfectly located within the city walls. Great comfortable bed, large bathroom, friendly front desk. I would recommend this hotel.

Location has a downside
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Universo in March. The location within the walls and on a piazza had some drawbacks. Although we had a great view, the piazza was could be noisy -- there was a carousel and lots of kids. Fortunately, it did not continue into the night at that time of year. Parking was the main issue, as what was available to us was outside the walls and quite a hike. There were large groups of tourists (mostly Italian) staying at the hotel. Breakfast was quite good, if crowded. I’ve never seen anyone work as hard as the two ladies who serviced the buffet did to ensure everything was fresh and restocked. The rooms were lovely and the staff helpful.
