Good but not worth the money
We liked it but it was very expensive, as most things were in Russia. The lobby was so smoky we couldnt wait to get through it. The room carpet was pretty shabby, although the room was fine in general. Room service was good and staff were helpful.
Traveler's tip
Subway was most convenient because it was right outside the lobby door. Great location in that regard.

Nice Location - Great Breakfast Buffett
My wife and I stayed at the Novotel Moscow Centre for a couple of nights while visiting Moscow on 9/8/09. We thought the location was great, being right on top of the Metro and close to many restaurants / shops. The breakfast buffett was excellent, with numerous choices and a great coffee / expresso drink machine. The price was very reasonable, considering this is Moscow City Center and most other hotels were at least $100 more expensive. The only downside was that one of the main lights blew out on the second night and was not fixed during our stay. I would however highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Moscow.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
This hotel is very reasonably priced, in a central location on top of a Metro station and your stay includes a great breakfast buffett.

Decent Place
Recently stayed here for 6 days/nights. Its a nice enough hotel...comparable to a Super 8 or Amerisuites here in the USA. The rooms are pretty basic and the bathroom is small, but for Moscow this is 4-5 stars. Ask for a higher flooor and youll enjoy a nice view of the city (as well as avoid the street noise!). As mentioned in previous reviews the breakfast is very good....lots of choices and food quality was good. We ate a huge late breakfast each morning which held us to dinner. This hotel is also situated in a good spot....with many cafes, restaurants and bars nearby (even a McDonalds). Mocha-lotta was our favorite place. Situated on top of a Metro station is also a huge plus. If you figure out what you are doing, you can get anywhere in the city for a couple bucks (vs. $40-$50 for the same ride in a cab).
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Use the Metro! Its busy and confusing at first, but SO much cheaper and, once you figure out the system, you can get most anywhere in the city!! My two taxi rides in Moscow have been near death experiences! Taxis are very expensive and you take your life into your own hands. Trust me! Google "traffic fatalities in Moscow"....and youll decide to ride the Metro.
