Great location, would go back.
The hotel was very nice, the only problem was the bed, it was uncomfortable, in need of a new mattress.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Lots of shopping nearby, museums and art gallery within walking distance.

Fraser Suites, Glasgow
My husband and I stayed at Fraser Suites Glasgow August 31, 2009 for 4 nights. I chose it based on value, location and room amenities. As long as youre not dragging too much luggage (like we were) it is an easy walk from either train station to the hotel. There are LOTS of restaurants very near by--we enjoyed Maggie Maes and Gandolfi (my fav). The former is next door, the latter just a minutes walk up the block. Our room was large with very high ceilings. It faced Albion Street, so noise was not an issue outside of business hours. I suspect a room facing the main street would indeed be noisy, so ask for the back or the Albion side. Beds were decent with nice sheets and duvets. Bathroom was clean and decently sized. Step into the shower was a fairly big one. There was a large ledge over the sink for toiletries. Great kitchenette with stove (hob), micro, ref, sink, glasses, cutlery and dishes for 2. Hotel does offer breakfast for a charge, but we bought our own breakfast items and snacks and took advantage of our in-room facilities.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
-Pack light -Bring a rain coat -Use the subway to get to the Kelvingrove area -We enjoyed going on a day trip (long day) all the way to Inverness with a company called Timberbush. They offer lots of other choices too. -There is a brand new Fraser Suites in Edinburgh. GREAT location 1/2 tiny block off of The Royal Mile. Rates reflect newness and location.

Nice hotel
Great place to stay. Its on the east side of the City Center, and convenient to the main shopping area. Room was nice and clean. Furniture was in good condition. They have free laundry equipment available in the basement, which was a definite plus. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint, is that if you stay on the 4th floor during the summer, they dont have air conditioning. Even with the windows open, and the temp in the high 50s, the room didnt really cool off. Would stay again, but ask for a room on one of the lower floors.
