Portofino Island Resort & Spa

Very nice!

This was a super nice resort. The condo we stayed in was beautiful and nicely decorated. The only negative thing was the resort restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. It is quite a drive to get to any other beach restaurants. Otherwise, the beach and water are some of the best anywhere.

We had a beautiful view and as most pleased with our room and customer service at the Portofino. I would highly recommend this fabulous resort to stay.

A dream come true

Our stay at Portofino Island Resort was one of the best vacations ever! The condo was much larger and spacious than we expected. It had all the comforts of home, plus a fantastic view of the ocean & beach from the balcony. There were plenty of dishes & towels, a washer & dryer, dishwasher - like I said, all the comforts of home. We enjoyed our stay immensely!

A place to go back to.

The hotel was excellent and the service was good. The rates were a little high, but the overall stay was very enjoyable.

Almost All-Inclusive

What a hidden treasure. This is truly a resort. The quiet end of Pensacola on the beach. The room was more like an up line 2-bedroom apartment. Comfortable bedding, great kitchen and living areas. The view of the Beach and sunrise were spectacular. We had a problem with the master shower...fixed that day. Included gulf charter does not include tip. Stay again? You bet!

Get there on a Monday or Tuesday to be able to catch the Blue Angels practice at the NAS. This, in reality, is their show. Arrive before 8am to get a bleacher seat. Then stay for the museum. Great day trip.

Portofino - impressed

The only "issue" I had with the complex is that the garbage drop/trash cans were behind a thin garage type door just as you entered and/or left the parking garage and elevator area to the condo. So, no way to avoid the fowl smell of garbage when you come and go. Just bad planning on placement of the building entrance/exit and the garbage shoot/storage. But, the condo was really nice, the pool was GREAT, the people were friendly and it was an overall GREAT experience!

I stayed at the Portofino for 5 days - what an awesome place! I loved every minute of it!

Nice location

Since it was a privitely owned condo, there was no services. I guess I know that now. Location and rooms were great. The pools and fitness center closed early. The restaurant was closed for repair. No maid service. Not what I expected for the price. Would rather go to a "hotel" if I go back to Pensacola.

Portofino Perfection

The Portofino Island Resort and Spa was the perfect get away. The two bedroom condo I stayed in was spacious, immaculate and homey. The beach across the street was private and exquisite. The sand was like walking on confectioners sugar and the view was 180 degrees of pure blue water. Perfect!

Beautiful Condo

Very nice two bedroom suite, three bathrooms, loaded kitchen.

Great place to let your teenagers ’do their own thing’ and feel secure about it.

THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO RENT AND STAY BUT IF YOU WANT A HOTEL DON’T GO HERE AS THERES NO SERVICE

Views are beautiful and the rooms are very nice. The only thing it lacks to be a hotel is the hotel service. To me it was more like renting a top grade condo not a hotel room as there was no real services.

Never wanted to leave

Portofino was a beautiful property with impecable grounds, sparkling pools and very friendly staff. It has a great atmosphere for families. My children had so much fun; there are a lot of activities for them, from water trampoline, pools and jacuzzis,a great indoor pool for cool and breezy days and they even have planned group activities. My kids loved the Easter Egg Hunt and the Popcorn and Movie at the pool. We had two seperate condos for our stay (due to airline issues) and each was perfect. Well done, with everything we needed. There were big fluffy embriodered towels for us to keep and free DVD rentals. The views and location were perfect. We rented bikes and rode to the National Park right next door. We love that they have chairs, umbrellas, hammocks, boogie boards, etc for guests to use. The water taxi to the boardwalk is not only convenient but fun. All in all, we loved it so much we are thinking of moving there!

Eat at Flounders. They have a great outdoor playground and volleyball on the beach. So does Crabs, but Flounders is more fun. Crabs does have cool picnic table - swings by their playground that my kids liked. It was great to have my kids enjoying the evening and meeting friends while my husband and I got some quality moments at the same time!

Best kept secret on the Gulf!

Portofino is the ultimate. The staff was great. The grounds were beautiful. The rooms were spacious with wonderful views. Amenities galore. The weather wasn’t the best during the first week of March but we still got in a couple of nice days (70 - 72 degrees) on the beautiful white sand beach. My kids (4 and 5) loved it...Plenty of things for them to do. The huge indoor pool took the edge off during the few rainy days. The catamaran leaves Portofino and goes to the boardwalk in Pensacola Beach on scheduled runs during the day (about a 10 minute boat trip). Lots of shopping and great places to eat. Just a few groups of spring breakers staying at Portofino which was nice. Most of the crazies go east to Panama City. Portofino provided a great family atmosphere. We plan on going back early summer.

The towers have 21 stories. My kids are 4 and 5 and we were on the 9th floor. If heights or watching your kids hang from the balcony bothers you then request a lower level.

Great First Condo Trip

We enjoyed having a condo setting and sharing it with another couple. Great setting, comfortable rooms, and great view.

Very beautiful and oversized condos with all the comforts of home

It is a wonderful place to stay. There is, however, no room service or dining on site except for weekends this time of year. It was also cold and rainy the whole time.

The island’s best hotel

Rooms are beautiful and comfortable. They include all necessary items for a week long stay. We spent Chjistmas and cooked Christmas dinner in room. Living room sofa set needs to be replaced with newer one. It is less than comfortable to sit on.

Restaurant Horrendous

This property is beautiful as well it should be for the price. However, for these rates people expect superlative service. We waited over one hour for breakfast - 3 tables had come in, been served, and left and we were waiting. Our waitress first said it was the "egg whites" holding up our order, then disappeared. The head waiter told us we came in at a busy time and it would be 4-5 minutes longer. 20 minutes later we left. The head waiter was snide about it. This ruined an otherwise lovely property in which we were thinking of investing; however, this type of thing makes one wonder what other services are lacking. It wasn’t the long delay that caused our irritation and concern. It was the lack of caring on the part of the staff, both restaurant and management.

Upscale condos with great location, view, facilities

New, spacious and upscale condo hotel - great views and top of the line fitness center. Directly accross from a quiet section of beach - great place to stay for leisure play. Probably not convenient for business...

Pensacola’s Finest

Although our stay at the Portofino was only a two-night stay, it was fabulous!!!! The room was like a well decorated condominium with a view of the gulf to die for!!! The Portofino Staff were very friendly and I especially liked that. We cannot wait to get back to the Portofino for an extended stay to enjoy more of the ameneties!!! Stanley and Tina

My entire family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The amenities were wonderful; the location was fabulous! We even discussed planning another trip (through Expedia, of course) to this hotel!

Our suite was beautiful. We were in Tower 3 with a 2bedrm golf view, on the 20th floor, which also gave us a beautiful ocean and pool view. We traveled with 3 teenagers and they appreciated the 3 tv’s with free DVD rentals, wireless internet and 2 full baths and 1 half bath. I liked having a washer and dryer handy and the beautiful kitchen that had everything. I loved getting up early before the family and sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee watching people on the beach exercising with the resorts trainer.

The only thing missing in our suite were hangers in the closet. I always pack extra ones in case there are not enough, but I was surprised there were none. Try to stay in tower 3, it is closest to the beach.

Loved the Hotel can’t wait to visit again.

Portofino Pensacola

This is a great place! A little pricey, but it is worth it. The units are very nice, the beach is clean, the staff is very friendly. If you love the water, there’s tons of stuff to do. The spa life center will pamper you. We just spent five days there .. and we will go back.

This is a very family friendly resort. Let the kids kayak on the ocean, swim in the outdoor or indoor pools, they can even fish off the docks.

Romantic Getaway

What a wonderful time! The room was beautiful, clean and well appointed. The sunsets were breathtaking. I highly recommend this hotel.
