Old Dubai accessible from the hotel
Our delight was returning to see the old Dubai and the Creek after 30 years. This hotel was in walking distance or a short cab ride to the markets and the water taxi. The view also was an enjoyable part of the ambiance.
Traveler's tip
You will enjoy all the hotels much more if you don’t think about how much they cost. Getting around with a rented car was often difficult because of the confusion of the roads and few places to park.

Nice hotel...
The hotel was very nice, but compared to similar ones/categories in Dubai somewhat expensive and not that impressive, Internet access very pricy. Otherwise the stay was excellent -- great restaurants, pool, friendly staff, and so on. I will probably not stay there again but still could certainly reccomend it.

Transportation from the hotel is a scam
Every thing about the hotel was great except they seem to discourage metered Taxi cabs and try to push privte Limos which are no better but charge you 3to4 times more....A cab driver told us that hotel/employees has some kick back arrangements. They don’t even bother to call a metered taxi cab and insist that they won’t show up for an hour. While private limo has good waiting facility, taxi cabs are shoed away!

Call the Taxi cabs yourself by phone....They are always glad to come and pick you up...even though the hotel is going to tell you otherwise!
