Great location!

We loved the Square. Only disappointment was that the breakfast buffet was not included in our room price and it was quite expensive(110 Kroner). With so many hotels in the U.S. offering free Continental Breakfast, the Square needs to get on board and do the same or at least lower the price. When we had the buffet, the room was practically empty and there was tons of food. Next visit, we will search for a hotel with breakfast included or a lower rate.

Perfect Hotel in City Center

I stayed at The Square for a conference and it was very centrally located. Just a few blocks from lots of restaurants, shops, and Tivoli. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast buffet was excellent. One thing I noticed is that none of the rooms or even the lobby had clocks, so be sure to bring your own alarm clock! I had to call the front desk for a wake up call every morning, and one morning they forgot to call. But overall, the stay was wonderful!

Great central location in Copenhagen

I stayed at the Square in mid-September during a week-long trip to Cophenhagen. It’s located in the main square of the city and is within walking distance of everything. The staff all spoke great English and were very helpful. I was alone and so had a very small room but it was clean and comfortable, if not glamorous. The lobby and lobby bar were a little disappointing when compared to the online photos, and there aren’t very many great restaurants in this part of Copenhagen, but because of the central location of the hotel, this wasn’t a huge issue. I might not recommend this hotel for familiies travelling with children, but it seemed like a perfect business travel location and it was great for me.

Mid-September was perfect...cool, sunny days and still lots of light into the evening.

Convenient, clean but small

Easy walking distance from the central train station, one block away from Tivoli and the Stroget. Short walk to the harbor area. Room is small by American standards, but the bathroom is relatively roomy! The lobby area is very inviting, and has a bar, so many people relax there rather than in the small rooms. Free, reliable internet access, although requires a ethernet cord in the rooms.

Great location

The Square is right across from the town hall square - a block from Tivoli and near shopping and restaurants, including a coffee shop next door. Hotel staff were friendly and efficient. We were very pleased - no complaints.

Excellent hotel, near everything

Nice hotel, clean and modern decor, relatively inexpensive for Copenhagen. Friendly staff. The location is ideal, very near everything - restaurants, bars, shopping, banks, Tivoli and walking distance to the train station. The only downside was that the bars on the block are open until 5am on Friday/Saturday nights, so the noise was a bit excessive on the weekends. Otherwise, a great stay and would highly recommend.

Perfect Location

The Square is centrally located in thecity. It is very close to the Bus Hop On/Off tour, the Central Train station as well as other tourist spots. Close to a lot of restaurants, and shopping places. I highly recommend this hotel

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

If you plan to stay here for a few days, try to get a Copenhagen bus hop on and off tour. This saves you time in looking for them.

Perfect location!

Clean, great view from the balcony over Copenhagen square. Across the street from Tivoli, on the same block as the tourist information office which is incredibly helpful. One block from the central train station. At the end of the most famous street in Copenhagen; The Stroget. Employees were patient, cheerful & helpful. Gave great tips for restaraunts.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Buy a local pass from the tourist information office. It includes 3 days of local transportation on buses & trains and lots & lots of free admissions to attrations like Tivoli & Fredericksborg Castle. Definitely go on the hop on/hop off bus and buy a 24 hour pass as there is much to see.

Great Location. Great Service. Mostly Clean.

This was an awesome hotel in a great location only two blocks from the train station and a less than a block from all the walking, shoping, and bus terminals. They didn’t have a single room when I checked in late at night so they upgraded me for free. The staff was awesome and extremely helpful with any questions I had. The room was clean and comfortable. My room had awesome windows overlooking a busy street with a great view. It had all the amenities I needed. The only possible negative: as mentioned in some previous posts, there is some mould in the white grout of the bath tub. It’s minor but if a little bit of mould is going to ruin your vacation and make you overlook the spotlessness of the rest of this hotel as well as all the awesome other featuers, don’t stay here.

Perfect location; fine hotel

The Square Hotel is nothing special from the outside but it’s fine on the inside (very nice rooms, great breakfast room, etc.) and perfectly located in the middle of all the sights you want to see in Copenhagen. I’d definitely book again.

Convenient, centrally located and will stay there again!

This is a great hotel in the middle of town, 2 blocks to the main train station that we used to travel the country and Sweden, near the main shopping area, tour departures, and about everything else that one could want to do in Copenhagen/Denmark! Kudos to Expedia as this is the first family trip that I booked entirely through Expedia and everything was as stated without any issues. Thanks. Paul D

Stay here and be right next to everything!

Bed & Local Attractions

Expect a Twin Bed and if you are over 6ft then beware of the hang off type of sleeping. Like a master closet room with set in clean bathroom. Breakfast buffet is very good and they collect $ only when you check out. The town center is across the street and plenty of nice walking tours of the town and restaurants galore.

Traveler's tip on dining

Walk off the beaten path for some outdoor dining and more relax viewing!

Great Hotel

The Square is a great place to stay. The location is convenient to the City Hall, Tivoli park, and the pedestrian shopping street. The staff are most helpful, the rooms clean, and has a great breakfast. It does get crowded with people going on cruises, but all in all, it’s a winner!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

There’s a tourist information office just around the block from The Square which is very good for getting the most out of your time in Copenhagen.

good location

The Square has a great location right next to Tivoli and Radhus Square and near the National Museum. We didn’t have any problems with noise, there are many restaurants nearby, and the AC actually worked (unlike many places we’ve stayed in N. Europe in summer). WiFi service was extremely spotty. Room is a bit expensive, and we had to pay US$50 PER NIGHT for an extra bed for our 6 year old in addition to what we had prepaid on Expedia.

OK Hotel, could be cleaner

Hotel was nicely decorated and had some amenities, however when I checked in, the toilet seat wasn’t completely wiped clean. The Shower didn’t have a door that completely blocked the water from splashing all over the bathroom and I had to deal with a wet bathroom floor after taking a shower

Perfect Copenhagen Hotel

The Square Hotel was in the perfect location, walking distance to just about anywhere you would want to go. Also, very close to central train station. A true Danish modern hotel with comfortable beds and nice clean bathrooms.

Great Location

The Square is a moderate size hotel within easy walking distance of Copenhagen’s central rail station. It’s also two blocks from Tivoli Gardens and across the road from City Hall. Lots of places to eat nearby and there’s a pedestrian mall a few blocks away. The Hotel has no fitness center, but for 50 Kroner they sell a guest pass at an excellent gym a few blocks away. The room was small, but clean. No kettle, good A/C and maid service was very good.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Walking distance to Tivoli Gardens, Central Train Station, pedestrian mall and City Hall.

Not impressed

The Square Hotel, was not a friendly hotel. The receptionists, although they answered any questions we had, had an attitude that we were bothering them and really could not be bothered. Unless we asked for a bellman, we had to carry our own suitcases. The room was OK, the bathroom was OK, but I did not like the location of the hotel - Even though it was near Tivoli Gardens. It was a "seedy" part of town and noisey. For the money we spent, I wish we had stayed somewhere else. I would NOT recommend this hotel.

Nothing Fancy but Great Location

The hotel is on the main square. I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go (some were very long walks). Tourist information center is just down the street, Tavoli Gardens, the Castle, and an art museum are within a few blocks. The shopping district is across the square. The Tower isn’t too far. Hotel was nothing fancy and the room was small. The hotel staff was very polite and informative.

Traveler's tip on shopping

If you go to the international district in the NW part of the city, food and shopping is much much cheaper.
