Relaxing Escape, Good Value, Good Ammenities, Good Service, Great Location

A wonderful little escape of the typical hustle & bustle or ultra-touristy Nassau. This property is a little gem for a relaxing weekend getaway. A huge pool area and nice little beach. Just a few steps to the casino or the market. Market has everything from an entertainment stage to local gift shops, dive bars, and decent restaurants. I’d recommend some freshly prepared conch salad from a vendor by the water. Lots of other easy activity options at the property and in the area. Staff was most courteous and friendly. If you’re on a short weekend visit, ask & pay for a late checkout on Sunday (only an additional $30 or so that will let you take extended advantage of the room & pool for the day).

Traveler's tip on dining

We like the variety of food across the street at port Lucya. Very reasonable prices. Every thing from hot dogs to fine dining. Don’t forget Billy Joe’s on the beach (off the hotel property. It doesn’t look like much, but the food is good- cooked right there on the outdoor grill

AWFUL!!

This is probably the worst hotel I have stayed at. First day we got here our tub was cloged so we had to swith rooms at 12 midnight after we were already set in. The service was horrible by all staff memebers. Noone was willing to help us in any way when we had a concern. For example, we lost our key so we called to get new keys and we waited outside our room for about 45 minutes and no one came. They do not care to satisfy their guests. Everyone I spoke to on the phone was very rude and unprofessional. It is recommened that you do not stay here because honestly all you are doing is wasting your time and money.Another example is when we wanted to eat at 12 mid there was not one restuarant open and they say they have 24 hour room service but that is not true. I was extremly unsatisfied and I promise you I will never ever come back to this hotel or even this Island. This was probably the worse experiance I have ever had and trust me dont come here!!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

I recommend that you do not come to the Grand Island in freeport. It is okay for the first couple of days but after that you run out of things to do. Save your money and book a better trip!

Radison { Westin previously} Hptel

We had excellent stay in this hotel. Service is excellent, poaple and staff are very friendly. We did not eat in the hotel as right behind the hotel there is the market place of the town and has every restaurant immaginable, Greek, Italian, mediterrenian, seafood, irish and so on. I would love to go back!!.

The Radisson in Port Lucaya

Service at this hotel during our stay in July was virtually non-existent. Desk personnel were cool and correct but most assuredly not friendly. It was not easy to connect with service personnel when a problem arose. On the other hand, cleanliness and room service were first rate. And, in fairness, there seemed to be few guests in a rather large hotel which might account for the low visibility of service personnel.

Good restaurants: Luciano and Iries. The casino was lots of fun, too.

Great location

Our first night experience was not the best - the room we got smelt of high potency chemical - like it had just been bleach cleaned or recently painted. The staff were very accommodating in providing another room for the rest of our stay. Location is fantastic with the market across the road providing lots of restaurants and of the best conch salad from the stall and pina coladas at Rum Runners!

If you havnt dived before this is a great place to go on a introductory dive - loved it.
