Great Stay

Great stay, beautiful hotel. great gym! only thing we didn’t like so much was the complimentary breakfast delivered to our room. wasn’t that great.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

we’re not much into guided tours, but we did take surfing lessons and kayaked to the arch. we recommend both! the hotel uses High Tide Tours and they were excellent. ask for roberto! super nice, helpful. made our experience very pleasant. :)

Beautiful Place

We went for the relaxing, away from Cabo feel. The Spa was amazing, I did three services and was pleased every time. The gym was the great, better than most resort facilities. The grounds were kept perfectly and our room was very clean. LOVE the coffee and pastries delivered every morning, no charge! I wish I would have known before that the beach is not swimmable. I assumed that the Sea of Cortez side is all swimmable, but it’s not. Waves were huge and riptides were very strong. The front desk was really helpful and very courteous. NO TIMESHARE SALES PEOPLE HARASSING YOU EITHER!!!!!!

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Arrange ahead of time for travel to and from airport. Taxis at the airport will charge you $75-$90 one way to Cabo and your return is only about $35-$40 from a regular cabbie. I have been to Cabo 4 times in the last two years, I love it.

Exceptional service - will return

Upon arrival, I was a little disappointed. The resort was closer to the highway than I had imagined and more remote. However, this made little difference. My fears disappeared after 30 min. at this wonderful resort. The staff was exceptional and it was evident that everyone was dedicated to providing 5 star service to each guest. We did not rent a car, so we ate almost all of our meals at the hotel. I have to say that the choices, quality, preparation, and presentation of each meal was excellent and honestly better than the few restaurants we paid the $15-$20 taxi ride to visit. Service at the restaurant was attentive but not intrusive, and the view of the Sea of Cortez by firelight each evening was a treat. I was looking for a quiet and restful retreat. Unfortunately for the hotel, tourism was down and there were not many guests. For us, it was a bonus because it made the Marquis seem like our own private resort. I would encourage the hotel to provide a little more in the way of entertainment in the evening, since some of the guests may not want to visit other locations for the nightlife. There was a singer in the bar several of the nights we were there, but after one night, her set was repetitive and not very exciting. It also relied heavily on US Top 40 music, not something a tourist wants to hear in a beautiful Mexican resort. I was extremely pleased with the experience we had. I will visit again and will encourage my friends and family to do the same.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Definitely make the effort to get out of your hotel room and do some kayaking and hiking in this beautiful place! We booked 3 excursions with Baja Wild and had a terrific time exploring nature with our exceptional bilingual guide.

Great Family Resort

Conveniently located between Cabo and San Jose, we enjoyed spring break with our two sons (7&11). Very clean, impeccible staff, good food and a very secure environment -- the boys would spend hours on the beach by themselves. We really appreciated the extra room in the junior suites vs other hotel rooms. Definitely will stay here again on our next trip to Cabo.

Exceeded my expectations

This was the third time that we stayed at the Marquis Los Cabos. We brought with us a small group for a seaside wedding and reception dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, Canto Del Mar. I have come to take for granted a high level of service from the Marquis, but they were able to surpass even those high expectations. High marks to our wedding coordinator who flawlessly managed the event. The hotel is smaller and more intimate than some of its neighbors on the corridor. That is exactly the reason why we like it. Every room is very well appointed and has a spectacular ocean view. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing get away, the Marquis Los Cabos is an excellent choice.

Amazing time!!!

Loved everything from our corner suite w/ perfect water pressure shower & jacuzzi tub and amazing ocean views to infinity pool, pristine beach, relaxing spa, large open gym w/ high quality equipment, great food, strong drinks and friendly staff. The bed was a little too firm if I have to mention something wrong. But we’ll definitely be back!!

Relaxing

The hotel was beautiful. The service was wonderful. A place where they remember your name.

Traveler's tip

You will spend a lot on your drinks and dinner ($11 for a liter of water) but you can not beat the view & service. You are in the middle of the tourist alley, therefore, rent a car or bring enough money for the expensive cab ride.

It has been a pleasure being at that hotel.

We went to Cabos San Lucas to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. When we arrive at the hotel they gave us a fruit juice to welcome us at the registration desk and i was astonished with the lobby and its surrounding. the registration took long , but it was worth it because they told us that they decided because it was our anniversary to upgrade us. And they gave us a beautiful casita and that was not all. when we arrive at the casita there was a cake that had written Happy Aniversary and a postcard. the casita was decorated with roses and in the bathroom there was two big swam kissing elaborated made with towels. All the hotel staff are very friendly and the hospitality its out of this world. the lady that cleans the room came twice a day. and in the evening she prepares us the jacuzzi. the pools have excellent temperature and the view of the ocean is superb. The only problem is the sun , the temperature was 95 degree F and there is no shadow to cover. i would recommend the hotel to put some umbrellas inside the pool. The restaurants serves excellent and plenty food. Do not miss the buffet ,they are excellent. As a conclusion this hotel was excellent and i travel all over the world. No wonder its consider to be among the leading hotels of the world. Its hospitality pampers you all the way! Thank you Marquis Cabo for the wonderful trip!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

There is a vendor that is on the beach that have jewels at a very good price:ask for a good discount. Go to eat at the office, which is a very casual and folkloric; the tables are in the sand . so go with some shoes that can go in the sand.) Rent a car for two days is worth it, and you could visit the two city, and its surrounding in two days. There is a shuttle bus $ 25.00 that takes you to the hotel or a private taxi for $65.00

Beaugi

We stayed at the Marquis for 7 days, with our children aged 10 and 7. The hotel is beautiful. It has spectacular views of the ocean, two fabulous infinity pools, and wonderful food. The hotel grounds are spotless, as is the pool. Our room was very pretty and housekeeping kept it very tidy. The restaurants were excellent, yet reasonably priced. The average entree at dinner was about $25-$30. I would say the restaurants at the Marquis rivaled other well known restaurants in Cabo. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We felt very well looked after. The only minuses were that the beach is unusable, which is the norm for most hotels in Cabo. The ocean is just very rough and has a strong undertow. In fact, we ventured to the a nearby hotel, which supposedly has a swimmable beach. Not so. The water there was almost as rough and unswimmable. The other minus would be the distance to Cabo San Lucas. It’s a 25 minute ride into Cabo, which will cost you between $35-$45 each way (depending on the number of people riding with you and the whim of the cab driver). So, expect to add on an extra $75 or so when you decide to venture into Cabo for dinner. We have stayed at many nice hotels around the world, and I would put the Marquis high on my list.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Watch out for ATV’ing in Cabo. NOT SUITABLE for kids, or even inexperienced adults. They neglect to tell you that most of your ride will be on a 2 lane, traffic filled highway of sorts. Very dangerous if you’ve never been on ATV.

Very impressive

My wife and I were very pleased with the Marquis. The resort is exquisite and the staff is top notch; they really go out of their way to ensure you are happy and satisfied with your stay. There were two items that can stand some improvement: 1)The water pressure in the showers is much too low. A resort such as the Marquis should have better shower facilities than that; 2) There were a LOT of wasps flying around one of the pools, so much so that it was impossible to enjoy yourself.

Wonderful service and fantastic food at this beautiful hotel. It is located away from the nightlife area and is very quite and romantic. 5-10 min taxi ride to San Jose and 20 min to Cabo San lucas.

We were disappointed

While the hotel is beautiful, and the views are spectacular, they failed to heat any of the three pools. The water was so cold that it was essentially unswimmable. In fact, only three people even attempted to get in it over our three day stay. The room had plumbing problems that were uncorrectable, so we moved to another room...also with plumbing issues. Finally the third room was ok. The poolside service was slower than anything we have ever experienced at any hotel, even though occupancy was very low on the weekend of our trip. Our final bill also was significantly incorrect, adding some insult to injury. While the erroneous charges were eventually reversed, we ultimately did depart on a less than joyful note. In this price range, we expected better, and after visiting Cabo twice annually for many years, this was our first...and last visit to the Marquis.

Luxury hotel with amazing service

The hotel staff was great to us the entire trip. The grounds are maintained impeccably, the rooms are spacious and romantic. Our balcony overlooked the beautiful ocean where you could see whales at play and watch the sun rise each morning. Canto del Mar was a well priced beautiful experience.

Traveler's tip on dining

Meals were amazing, don’t always fall for the buffet, on the last day we finally ordered a la carte and the food was delicious- try the french toast!

Will be back

First class hotel with great facilities and food (but expensive) If this is not an issue then a wonderful place to go. Best to have a car and eat out a few of your meals. Golf shop very helpful and the staff does it all. No major nightlife, live background music at night lulls you into a comfortable atitude. No smimming in the ocean but pool area is fantastic.

Excellent Stay - exceeded expectations!!

Extremely impressed with the overall facilities as well as level of service at Marquise. A 5 star experience and definitely worth a re-visit. Restaurant menus could contain more vegetarian options.
