not really a four star hotel
This hotel is located twenty minutes walk from Ceret and has lovely views of the mountains. It has a swimming pool and other resort features but it is not up to a normal four star standard. The room we had was large and the bathroom was newly renovated with a separate toilet. However, the carpet and other soft furnishings were very old. The curtains would not pull and I had to climb a chair and rehook some of them to get them to close. The smell in the room was the worst feature and however much we aired the room, it never left. The delightful view from the balcony was not enough to offset it. When we left I mentioned this to the receptionist, who appeared surprised and said she would have moved us - as we arrived late each evening, we had not had time to move rooms and doubted other rooms would be much different. The restaurant food was of a high standard.
