Nice staff, decent accomodations
I booked this hotel before I read others reviews, so after reading them, I got pretty nervous about my stay. I found the hotel to be decent accomodation, however. The staff was very friendly and intent on making my stay as comfortable as possible. My bed was comfortable, and though dingy, the room had attractive and new furniture. The shower worked great, and there were no bugs whatsoever in the shower (as others had found). Also, I felt that the neighborhood was safe--there were attractive single-family homes all around. It was also very easy to get to the T, about a ten minute walk. I would stay here again. I found it to be a great deal overall.

Recommended, but...
As youve no doubt read in other reviews, this is not a great motel. For me, the prime advantages were the easy walk to the T station (dont take the highway--just go for a nice stroll through a pleasant neighborhood), and a relatively inexpensive price. The motel as a whole needs something--more maintenance, of course, but I really think more a sense of what they want to be. It kinda reminded me of places Ive stayed in West Africa where they sort of try to provide Western service but they just dont quite get it. The room was *moderately* clean--no major errors, just not always reassuring. The biggest problem with the room was the heat. Wind chill my first night was about 5 F, and the room didnt get warm until I got back the next evening. On the other hand, I did get what I paid for--easy access to the city but at about half the price.
Traveler's tip on dining
Another advantage and advice: Forget the (lousy) free breakfast, but head over to the little breakfast cafe next door. Worth the expense, plus you get to bask in the New England accent.

What a dump!
The hotel was a dump. The from desk staff barely spoke English and was very unfriendly. We were suppose to have a room with a King bed; we got a room with two double beds. There were dead bugs on the wall of the shower - the entire three days we stayed there and a soap bar smashed on the wall. When we returned to our room after the first night, there was a bag of clean towels outside our door. We entered the room to find out it had not been cleaned. When we asked the front desk staff why the room hadnt been cleaned he said it must have been because we had our do not disturb sign on the door. We couldnt even find a do not disturb sign in our room. The next day the room was cleaned. Their idea of cleaning the room is making the beds, emptying the trash and removing some of the dirty towels and giving you some clean towels. Same dead bugs and soap smashed on the walls of the shower. We would never stay there again or recommend it to anyone.
