Would Stay Here Again

This was a very classy hotel in a great area of London, within walking distance to the Tate Britain and Westminster Cathedral. The entire staff was very helpful. The concierge service gave us great recommendations for restaurants and attractions. When I return to London I would definitely stay at the City Inn Westminster again!

Great contemporary hotel

Great contemporary hotel w/ nice amenities. Good location, walking distance to Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey & Parliament, pretty convenient to tube stations. Close to Pret A Manger! Clean rooms with free internet and skype.

Great stay

This hotel is in the perfect location to walk to most visitor sights in London; it is within a business district and quiet on the weekend and evenings. Rooms were small, but tasteful and clean - had problems with room service, but reception was accommodating. Cafe, restaurant and bar are expensive at the hotel - but only a short walk to pubs and coffee shops. Would stay here again.

Traveler's tip on dining

Found a great breakfast place facing the London Eye (approx 10min walk) called ’Enough to feed an Elephant’, located by Waterloo station. Typical basic English cafe style with good food and prices, worth the walk for breakfast! Check out the local pubs for great beer and ’pub grub’.

Not thrilled for London hotels

Basic bathroom condition, shower products are of below the average quality, and not even hair conditioner’s been provided. This doesn’t match fantastic MAC in the room and complementary internet. Slightly dislocated, but with the great cafe-restaurant.

Wonderful long weekend

We recently enjoyed a wonderful three night stay at the City Inn Westminster. The hotel is lovely and the rooms quite comfortable. The hotel is remarkably clean. It was nice to have a computer with internet access in the room. While not right next to a tube stop, I found the location to be very good. Just be prepared to walk a bit. I would not hesitate to stay at the City Inn Westminster again.

The room was clean and comfortable. In room computer very convenient and useful. Hotel was 5-10 minute walk from 3 differant tube stations. Beautiful view of Thames. Will stay again when in London

Great value for room, location, and amenities

Exceptional Hotel

New hotel. Comfortable, clean and good sized rooms. Free internet and Macintosh computer with movies, dvd, cd etc. Dining was inexpensive for a hotel of this quality and location. Close to Thames and Tate Gallery. Drawback is not so close to tube station. This is an easy to overcome drawback when you realize there probably isn’t a better hotel to stay at at this price point. Quiet area and lots of taxis.

Ultramodern hotel located between the Tate gallery and Westminster, with views of the Thames, very quiet, very well priced for London. 2 good restaurants, a large Mac computer in every room with free internet. Somewhat distant from theatre and shopping.

Stylish and Comfortable

The hotel had a fun style, with great dining. The location was close to perfect, just a few minutes walk from Westminster Abbey, and about 20 min walk from Trafalgar Square.

Try the three-course menu, and make sure you try the ice cream and biscotti.

A Quiet Setting Close to the Tate

We enjoyed the quiet setting. The room and the view were fantastic. However, we requested a non-smoking room and the room reeked of smoke. Food in the restaurant was fantastic, but the service was a bit innattentive (we had to pour our own wine, etc.)

The hotel is in close proximity to the Tate and their Thames boat service to the Tate Modern.

Clean and Contemporary

The hotel was extremely clean and modern. The decor was very stylish and an Internet-connected workstation was available outside of our room on the second floor. Despite the fact that the hotel isn’t directly located next to convenient public transportation, there were always a line of cabs at the door and we had no problem walking around the city, even as far as Piccadilly.

The hotel is tucked away on the south side of Westminster, so be prepared to direct cab drivers just in case they’re unfamiliar with the area, which was the case for us.

Modern, clean and a great bed!

We enjoyed our stay at the City Inn Westminster very much. The room is very modern and well laid out with every consideration in mind. The bed was fabulous, which seems to be the most difficult thing to find while traveling. It is in a quiet part of London with nothing going on at night... but there are cabs.

Great Hotel

The City Inn is a wonderful hotel, very modern, clean and centrally located but in a very quite part of Westminster. The staff is extremely helpful and courteous and will go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. And given that the dollar is absolutely useless right now, the fact that an English breakfast is included is a lifesaver! The only downside is that it is about a 15 min walk to the nearest tube station, St. James, but it is on the Circle line so that helps. Bottom line, I will stay at this hotel again.

Modern, Clean, Comfortable

Although we were traveling as tourists, we picked this hotel which is described more as a business person’s hotel. It is not ideally located for a tourist, but it is close enough to bus stops and an Underground station to do. More importantly, it is likely much more modern and with larger bedrooms and bathrooms than typical hotels in more tourist related locations. The hotel staff was unfailingly helpful and pleasant. Our one room service order was incorrect, but that was the only bad point. There are DVDs available at the front desk for free viewing in your room, and we watched a movie every night after a long day of sightseeing. If you brought your laptop, you could plug it in in the room. If not, there were two laptops for free use, one on the second floor hallway and one on the fourth. As I said, the bedroom was quite an adequate size, with space to put our suitcases, maps and guides, and in room snacks. The bathroom was a reasonable size, far better than what’s to be found in many big city hotels, especially at this price. If you are a runner, the river is only a block or so away and an ideal place for a morning jog. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
